The effectiveness of poverty reduction work in Dak Lieng

With the attention and investment of the State, the participation of local authorities and the efforts of the people, the sustainable poverty reduction policy in Dak Lieng commune has been implemented in the right direction, helping many households escape poverty.

In recent years, with the support funds from the National Target Program for Sustainable Poverty Reduction, Dak Lieng commune has implemented many projects and livelihood models suitable to the people's real life. The focus is on supporting trees and animals such as durian, other fruit trees and breeding pigs and cows...

The locality has also focused on coordinating with relevant units to organize vocational training classes; training on the application of science and technology in production for poor and near-poor households...

The models and projects have brought about practical results, helping many poor and near-poor households have livelihoods and escape poverty sustainably.

Dak Lieng commune with large fields is an advantage for agricultural development.

A typical example is the case of Mai Anh Tuan's family (M'lieng village). In 2023, Tuan was able to borrow 80 million VND from the job creation loan program. After having the capital, he invested in building barns, buying breeding animals and renovating more than 3 sao of land to raise ducks for eggs. Up to now, his family's economic model has brought a stable source of income.

Not only Mr. Tuan's family, thousands of households in villages and hamlets in Dak Lieng commune have also been accessing preferential credit programs of the Social Policy Bank to develop their household economy.

Along with the policies to support people in economic development of the National Target Program on Sustainable Poverty Reduction, the locality has also mobilized resources such as the new rural construction program and other capital sources to support poor and near-poor households; invest in building schools, rural roads, intra-field roads, irrigation canals... In the period of 2021 - 2025 alone, the commune has allocated more than 101 billion VND in development investment capital for these programs, contributing to improving rural infrastructure.

The new rural appearance of Dak Lieng commune is increasingly prosperous.

According to Dak Lieng Commune Party Secretary Nguyen Quang Dung, practical support policies suitable to local characteristics have contributed to changing the face of rural areas, strengthening people's trust in the Party's guidelines and policies and the State's policies.

In order to effectively deploy capital sources and projects under the national target programs for the period 2025 - 2030, in addition to focusing on production development, creating livelihoods and supporting poor and near-poor households, in the coming time, the commune will focus on investing in essential rural infrastructure works to promote production development. Along with that, strengthening the implementation of job creation and vocational training, especially focusing on vocational training for young rural workers, prioritizing vocational training for workers from poor households lacking production land, thereby improving the quality of human resources and helping workers escape poverty sustainably with their own capacity.

By the end of 2025, the multidimensional poverty rate in the commune is estimated to decrease to 20.05%, of which the poverty rate is 8.73% and the near-poor rate is 11.32%.
