2026 AFC U17 Qualifiers Rankings: Surpassing Malaysia, Vietnam tops Group C - Graphics: AN BINH
On the evening of November 30, the final match of Group C of the 2026 AFC U17 Championship qualifiers ended with the following results: Macau defeated the Northern Mariana Islands 2-0, Hong Kong drew 1-1 with Singapore, and Vietnam defeated Malaysia 4-0.
This result helped U17 Vietnam finish the qualifying round as the top team in the group, with 15 full points, 3 points more than the second-placed U17 Malaysia. Coach Cristiano Roland's team showed their "destructive" strength when they won all 5 matches, scored 30 goals and did not concede any.

The 2026 AFC U17 Championship qualifiers will apply a new competition format: 38 teams will be divided into 7 groups (3 groups of 6 teams, 4 groups of 5 teams). The top 7 teams in each group will qualify for the final round.
In addition, 9 teams were given special permission to enter directly, including host Qatar (host of the 2026 U17 World Cup) and 8 teams entering the quarter-finals of the 2025 U17 Asia: Uzbekistan, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, North Korea, Tajikistan, Japan, UAE and Indonesia.
The qualifying matches are scheduled to take place from November 22 to November 30, 2025. The finals will be held in Saudi Arabia in May 2026. The eight teams that make it to the quarterfinals will represent Asia at the 2026 U17 World Cup.
