The Vietnamese women's team just returned to Ho Chi Minh City on the afternoon of November 30 after a 10-day training trip in Japan to prepare for the 33rd SEA Games. Coach Mai Duc Chung and his team will leave for Chonburi (Thailand) on December 2 to prepare to defend their championship title.
Meanwhile, the U22 Vietnam team just arrived in Ho Chi Minh City this afternoon (November 30), after their final training trip in Ba Ria.
Coach Kim Sang Sik and his team are the pioneers, arriving in Thailand tomorrow afternoon (December 1) to prepare for the opening match against U22 Laos taking place 2 days later in Bangkok.
Speaking at the ceremony, General Secretary of the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) Nguyen Van Phu said that not only the Vietnam U22 team and the Vietnam women's team, but also the men's and women's futsal teams will compete in the 33rd SEA Games with the highest determination.

Achievements at SEA Games 33 are an important task
Mr. Phu said: "Achievement at the 33rd SEA Games is an important task. It not only demonstrates the strength of Vietnamese football but also demonstrates the will, spirit and aspiration of the Vietnamese people."
It is noteworthy that both teams have unfortunate injuries to key players. The U22 Vietnam team is missing important midfielder Nguyen Van Truong, while the Vietnamese women's team is missing center back Chuong Thi Kieu and midfielder Nguyen Thi Van.
Admitting there are many difficulties, Mr. Nguyen Van Phu still believes that both teams will overcome them to win.
He said: "The absence of Van Truong will create challenges for the Vietnam U22 team. But with careful preparation and still having other young players, the team will achieve its goal.
The Vietnamese women's team was also significantly affected by the absence of Kieu and Van. Especially when the team had to face two strong opponents Myanmar and the Philippines in the group stage. However, the recent training trip to Japan helped coach Mai Duc Chung strengthen the players' physical strength and perfect their playing style."
