On the afternoon of June 22nd, the Hue Imperial Citadel Relics Conservation Center, in collaboration with the Ho Chi Minh City Antiquities Association and several domestic collectors, organized the opening of the "Antiquities Gathering" exhibition at Kien Trung Palace - Hue Imperial Citadel.
Taking place from June 22nd to July 21st, the "Gathering of Ancient Artifacts" exhibition showcases 147 artifacts and relics from the Nguyen Dynasty, selected from collections belonging to material groups such as enamelware, ceramics, precious metals, and wooden objects .
According to Mr. Hoang Viet Trung, Director of the Hue Imperial City Relics Conservation Center, these are ancient artifacts and relics crafted during the Nguyen Dynasty, used both in the royal court and among the common people. They were made by the court's workshops and by domestic production facilities (such as Cay Mai pottery, wooden items, etc.) or commissioned and purchased from abroad for use in the royal court and among the people (some cloisonné enamelware, porcelain, etc.) .
“With the theme ‘Gathering of Ancient Artifacts,’ the exhibition aims to create activities related to long-standing traditional hobbies, while also creating new experiences for locals and tourists in heritage spaces. It provides an opportunity for domestic antique collectors to interact and exchange experiences in antique collecting – a profession that requires not only passion and appreciation for heritage but also financial resources and intercultural knowledge to pursue their passion,” Mr. Trung said.
Some artifacts and relics crafted during the Nguyen Dynasty are on display at the exhibition.
