Many diverse activities

According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the main activities of the 4th Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day in 2025 will take place from April 15th to May 1st. Activities are expected to be organized throughout the province, from urban to rural areas, in various forms, including: Implementing communication activities; participating in the 2025 Reading Culture Ambassador competition; promoting book week, book fairs, and key book publishing months to show appreciation to customers; introducing online distribution channels, in combination with technology platforms, social networks, and e-commerce platforms; and promotional programs to support readers and develop reading culture. Introducing the "Online Book Marketplace - Book365.vn" organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and essential electronic book and newspaper platforms serving the goal of reducing information poverty at: www.sachdientu.vn; www.ebook.gov.vn of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Organize competitions such as book introductions, storytelling, drawing, book discussions, research on historical figures and relics based on books, and artistic book arrangements. Provide guidance on selecting appropriate and valuable books; guide the development of effective reading skills, and the ability to search for, exploit, and utilize information. Launch fundraising campaigns to donate books and reading equipment to libraries, book collections, and exemplary organizations and individuals in the reading movement; develop a reading culture in the province and support and supplement rural book collections, libraries, and school book collections. Organize book clubs with diverse and practical activities. Expand models such as family, clan, agency, school, and community book collections, and book cafes. Effectively implement the circulation of books and newspapers to grassroots libraries, school libraries, and book collections to serve the reading and information needs of all segments of the population.

Raising the intellectual level of the people and nurturing their souls.

The implementation of the 4th "Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day" in 2025 in An Giang province will not only focus on superficial activities but also aim for the long-term goal of building a strong reading community, contributing to raising intellectual standards, nurturing the soul, and developing the people of An Giang comprehensively. Through books, people will have the opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of the history and culture of their homeland and country, fostering greater love and pride in traditional values.

Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of An Giang province, Nguyen Thi Minh Thuy, requested: “The ‘Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day’ must be launched and organized at all levels, sectors, agencies, units, and schools with rich, vibrant, and attractive activities, combining traditional activities with modern organizational methods in line with the development trends of technology platforms and digital transformation (online book fairs on technology platforms, in-person and online book fairs, cashless payment book fairs, etc.); and promote books and reading culture through online newspapers and social media. The organization of the ‘Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day’ must ensure that it is purposeful, practical, effective, and attracts the positive response of the community, agencies, and social organizations in building and developing reading culture.”

The 4th "Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day" event in An Giang in 2025, linked to major political tasks and holidays, promises to be an important cultural highlight, contributing to enriching the spiritual life of the people. At the same time, it affirms the province's deep concern for developing reading culture in the context of national integration and development.
