After the opening ceremony, An Giang Trade Union football team played their first match, winning against Ho Chi Minh City Trade Union football team 3 with a score of 4-2.

The 2025 Vietnam Workers' and Civil Servants' Football Tournament is jointly organized by the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor , Tuoi Tre Newspaper, and the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF). After the Northern qualifying round, the 2025 Vietnam Workers' and Civil Servants' Football Tournament continues with the Southern qualifying round.

The Southern qualifying round has 23 teams participating, taking place from October 10 to 13 in Ho Chi Minh City. The teams are divided into 6 groups; 6 group winners and 2 best second-placed teams in 6 groups will enter the quarter-finals. 8 teams that reach the quarter-finals of the Southern qualifying round will participate in the final round.

The 2025 Vietnam Workers' and Civil Servants' Football Tournament aims to encourage and motivate workers, civil servants, and laborers to participate in physical training, improve their spiritual and cultural life, and is also a playground for union members and laborers to demonstrate their talents; exchange and learn experiences, and strengthen solidarity and cohesion.
