Jhon Duran receives a huge salary in Saudi. |
According to Foot Mercato , Duran has agreed to join Fenerbahce on a season-long loan. Notably, the Turkish side are reportedly willing to pay Duran an even higher salary than the huge sum Al Nassr is currently paying.
The 21-year-old striker joined Al Nassr from Aston Villa in late January in a deal worth £64.5m. At that time, Duran signed a 5.5-year contract with Al Nassr, receiving a salary of more than £335,000/week.
Duran is estimated to have earned more than £7m in his 21 weeks with the Saudi Arabian club. That is four and a half times more than he would have earned had he stayed at Aston Villa, where he was paid around £75,000 a week.
However, Fenerbahce are willing to pay the player more than £400,000 a week on a season-long loan deal. If the deal goes through, Duran will become one of the highest-paid players in Europe for the 2025/26 season.
Fenerbahce, managed by Jose Mourinho, finished second in the Turkish Super Lig last season, marking their fourth consecutive year as runners-up. Mourinho’s side are desperate to add more firepower to their title challenge, especially with Galatasaray paying Sane a salary of over £350,000 a week, a huge wage by Turkish standards.
Last season, Duran scored 12 goals in 18 appearances for Al Nassr, which is not a bad result. However, according to the Saudi Arabian media, this striker is having some problems adapting to the playing environment in this country, affecting his spirit and stability on the field. Therefore, Al Nassr is considering the possibility of letting Duran leave on loan.
