Team K52 recovers two more remains of fallen soldiers in Cambodia.

On May 8th, according to information from Team K52 of the Political Department, Gia Lai Provincial Military Command, during their mission in Ratanakiri Province (Kingdom of Cambodia), the unit recently searched for and collected two more remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died during various periods of war.

Specifically, on May 7th, in the Lam village area, Ia Tung commune, O Ya Dao district, Ratanakiri province, the K52 team conducted an excavation after receiving information from Mr. Seu Chenh (65 years old). According to Mr. Seu Chenh, his father, Puih Chenh, previously lived in Lam village and served in combat alongside the Vietnamese army from 1968 to 1973. He knew the burial location of the fallen Vietnamese soldiers in the forest area of ​​Lam village, which was formerly a Vietnamese military base.

After verifying the information, Team K52 deployed search forces and discovered two remains of fallen soldiers at coordinates 13.7117-107.5386. The first grave was excavated at 9:20 AM, and the second at 10:30 AM on the same day.

During the excavation, authorities recovered skeletal remains including skulls, teeth, arm bones, leg bones, and numerous bone fragments. Many artifacts were also found, such as a thermos flask, forceps, medical scissors, a Hong Ha fountain pen, a penicillin bottle, a comb, military uniform buttons, Sao Vang balm, Vietnamese coins, and two nylon tarpaulins. Currently, the remains have not been identified, and the unit has taken biological samples for identification purposes as per regulations.

According to the Gia Lai Provincial Military Command, from November 19, 2025 to the present, during the 2025-2026 dry season, Team K52 has searched for and collected 18 remains of Vietnamese volunteer soldiers and experts who died in Cambodia. Of these, 8 remains were collected in Ratanakiri province, 7 in Stung Treng province, and 3 in Preah Vihear province.

Lieutenant Colonel Hoang Viet Ngoc, Political Officer of Team K52, Political Department, Gia Lai Provincial Military Command, said that in the coming time, the unit will continue to expand the search operation and simultaneously gather more information related to the burial places of fallen soldiers. "We will continue the search until there is no new information," Lieutenant Colonel Hoang Viet Ngoc emphasized.

Currently, officers and soldiers of Team K52 are continuing to deploy their mission in all three directions across the provinces of Ratanakiri, Stung Treng, and Preah Vihear, intensifying information verification, expanding the search area, and effectively implementing the Government 's "500-day campaign to intensify the search, collection, and identification of the remains of fallen soldiers."
