Chairman of the Vietnam Network of Innovation and Entrepreneurship of Universities and Colleges (VNEI), Dr. Nguyen Trung Dung affirmed this at the opening ceremony of the 2025 National Forum on the theme "Innovation in Vietnam's Cultural and Tourism Industry", chaired by VNEI, in coordination with Chan Tam Tourism Services Co., Ltd., the Cultural and Tourism Talent Incubator Project and ORCCED Organization - Connecting the Development of Vietnamese Cultural andEducational Resources, held on June 24, 2025, at Tam Chuc National Tourist Area.
According to him, culture and tourism , two fields rich in identity and potential, are facing a great opportunity to redefine their roles, models and products through the application of technology, connecting creative communities and exploiting knowledge resources.
“Traditional values – if illuminated by innovative thinking – can become a source of sustainable development and have strong influence in the digital age,” emphasized Dr. Nguyen Trung Dung.
The VNEI Chairman affirmed that the Forum not only discussed successful models or technology trends, but also shared the common responsibility in connecting the “three houses”: State-School-Enterprise to jointly create practical solutions, sustainable cooperation and innovation for the community.
The forum “Innovation in Vietnam’s Cultural and Tourism Industry” was held in the context that the cultural and tourism industry is facing the urgent need to transform to adapt to the digital age, the public’s need for new experiences, as well as the pressure to innovate in the method of exploiting heritage values.
The event gathered more than 100 delegates representing central ministries and branches, more than 50 universities and colleges, creative enterprises, international organizations and innovative startups in the fields of culture-tourism-technology.
The program focuses on key contents: Developing cultural industrial products associated with heritage; Applying virtual reality (VR) technology in cultural-tourism experiences; Introducing creative models at relic sites; Sharing international lessons in developing cultural industries.
VNEI is currently one of the strategic hubs in the national innovation ecosystem. With more than 60 members including universities, research institutes and startup support centers, VNEI plays a role in connecting, leading and promoting digital transformation, creative thinking and interdisciplinary cooperation models in higher education.
The Forum on Innovation in Vietnam's Cultural and Tourism Industry 2025 affirms VNEI's pioneering role in promoting innovation beyond the educational framework, gradually shaping and connecting the creative ecosystem in potential fields such as culture, tourism and creative industries.
