The International Football Federation (FIFA) has just released the latest rankings for men's national teams for November 2025.
Accordingly, the Vietnamese team moved up one place to 110th in the world rankings (points from the 2-0 win against Laos have not yet been added to the ranking system).

FIFA's earlier-than-expected announcement of the rankings is to facilitate preparations for the draw for the 2026 World Cup play-offs, which will take place on the evening of November 20th (Vietnam time).

Xuan Son scored, and the Vietnamese team secured 3 points away against Laos.
For this reason, some results from friendly matches and qualifying rounds that took place close to the announcement date have not been included in this ranking.
Coach Kim Sang-sik and his team achieved their goal of securing 3 points in the crucial match of the fifth round of Group F in the final qualifying round for the 2027 Asian Cup, away against the Laos national team.
These points will be counted towards the next ranking, at which point the "Golden Star Warriors" will likely continue to improve their position.
In the Asian rankings, Japan remains in the lead, followed by Iran and South Korea.
The Vietnamese national team is ranked 20th in Asia, and continues to hold the 2nd position in Southeast Asia, after Thailand.

The improvement in the FIFA rankings is seen as an important source of motivation for the Vietnamese national team in preparation for upcoming tasks.
This not only strengthens Vietnam's football position in the region but also brings an optimistic signal to fans at a time when the national team is striving to improve its performance and results and aiming for long-term goals.
On the afternoon of November 20th, the Vietnamese national team returned home after their 2-0 victory against Laos in the second leg of the 2027 Asian Cup Qualifiers.
This was also the final match of the year for the "Golden Star Warriors," concluding a journey filled with commendable efforts and achievements.
The Vietnamese national team will return during FIFA Days in 2026, starting with a training camp in March 2026 to play their final match against Malaysia in the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers.
