Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia visits and encourages people in flood-affected areas of Son La.

Receiving and working with the delegation were Comrade Hoang Quoc Khanh, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Son La province, and leaders of several departments, agencies, and Moc Chau district.

Due to the impact of Typhoon No. 3, many facilities in Moc Chau district suffered significant damage to houses, property, crops, and the road, electricity, and water supply systems, with total losses amounting to nearly 20 billion VND. Specifically, 4 households had their houses completely destroyed, 7 houses had their roofs blown off, and 118 houses were affected by landslides. In Hua Pang commune alone, 3 households had their houses completely collapsed, 5 households suffered severe damage, and 23 houses were at risk; over 15 hectares of agricultural crops were damaged, 2 power poles were broken; and 16 points along internal and inter-village roads and National Highway 43 experienced landslides, significantly impacting transportation.

Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia, Head of the Central Propaganda Department, presented gifts to support households whose houses collapsed in Hua Pang commune, Moc Chau district.

After conducting on-site inspections and listening to quick reports on the damage caused by Typhoon No. 3 and the recovery efforts of the leaders of Son La province and Moc Chau district, Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia commended the decisive actions of the Party committees and authorities at all levels in Son La province in flood and storm prevention and control.

The comrade requested that Son La province and Moc Chau district continue to review vulnerable areas at risk of landslides and affected by floods; prepare sufficient forces and materials, and do a good job of prevention to avoid serious incidents that cause damage to people and property.

The Head of the Central Propaganda Department also requested continued effective implementation of the "four on-the-spot" principle, closely monitoring the flood situation, effectively implementing solutions to relocate people to safe areas if there is a risk of landslides, and providing support to people in overcoming the consequences of floods; doing a good job of environmental sanitation and disease prevention after floods; guiding people to restore agricultural production; supporting affected households to stabilize their lives as soon as possible; and creating the best conditions for students to start the new school year and celebrate the Mid-Autumn Festival.

After inspecting the damage and post-flood recovery efforts, Comrade Nguyen Trong Nghia visited, encouraged, and presented 53 gifts to families affected by the floods caused by the remnants of typhoon No. 3 and to disadvantaged students who have excelled in their studies in the villages of Hua Pang commune, Moc Chau district.
