At approximately 00:21 on May 18th, a 5.2 magnitude earthquake struck Liu Nan District, Liu Zhou City, Guangxi Province (China), with its epicenter at a depth of 8km.

As of 4:00 AM that day, the earthquake had caused the collapse of 13 buildings, four people were taken to the hospital for emergency treatment, three people were missing, and more than 7,000 people had been evacuated.
Following the earthquake, the Liuzhou City Earthquake Relief Command immediately activated its emergency response mode, quickly coordinating rescue forces from emergency response units, police, fire departments, militia, etc., to the scene to carry out search and rescue operations and evacuate residents. Simultaneously, they conducted a comprehensive inspection of construction projects, water and electricity systems, bridges and roads, etc., to ensure safety and eliminate potential geological hazards in the area.
The China Earthquake Administration has activated a Level 3 emergency on a four-level system in response to this earthquake.
The State Council's earthquake relief command center, the China Earthquake Administration, and the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region all dispatched working groups to Liuzhou to direct emergency response efforts.
Communications, electricity, water, gas, and transportation in the earthquake area are currently functioning normally.
