According to a Vietnam News Agency (VNA) correspondent in China, at approximately 4:30 a.m. local time on May 31, a mine collapse caused by illegal mineral exploitation occurred in Na Gu town, Hui Ze county, Yunnan province, southwestern China, killing five people and injuring one.
Upon receiving the report, emergency response units, police, fire departments, medical services , and natural resources departments of Qujing City and Huize County immediately arrived at the scene to carry out rescue operations.
Following extensive search and rescue efforts, all six trapped individuals were rescued and immediately taken to the hospital for emergency treatment. However, five of them died from serious injuries, and one sustained further injuries.
The process of addressing the aftermath and investigating the cause of the accident is being carried out according to procedure.
