On the evening of February 26th, the Military Service Councils of the districts and cities (Dong Nai province) organized a military recruitment camp to motivate and encourage young people to enlist in the army.

Dong Nai: A bustling day of military enlistment.

Mr. Nguyen Huy Hai (residing in An Hoa ward, Bien Hoa city) graduated from the Electrical and Electronic Engineering Technology program at Dong Nai University of Technology in September 2023. Despite having many job opportunities, he decided to volunteer for military service.

Hai said: “I postponed my military service throughout my four years of university, so after graduation I needed to proactively register to participate. It not only demonstrates my responsibility and duty as a citizen to the country, but also provides an opportunity to grow and mature in a highly disciplined and orderly environment.”

Party member Nguyen Thanh Trung, currently in his second year at Lilama 2 International College of Technology, also submitted an application to defer his studies in order to enlist in the army, following the family tradition of his grandfather, who participated in the resistance war and is currently a veteran in Lo 25 commune (Thong Nhat district).

Young Party member Le Tan Phuc (Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union Branch of Hamlet 3, Phu Thanh Commune), who was selected for military service, shared: “The atmosphere of the enlistment day was very joyful, vibrant, and warm with the spirit of the military and the people. I am very proud to contribute a small part to the task of protecting the Fatherland. As a young Party member and Deputy Secretary of the Youth Union Branch of the hamlet, I must set an example so that young union members understand their responsibility and duty to participate in military service, inheriting traditions and protecting the Fatherland in the new situation.”

Ms. Nguyen Thi Giang Huong, Chairwoman of the People's Committee of Nhon Trach District and Chairwoman of the District Military Service Council, stated that at the recent military recruitment conference, the heads of Party committees and governments of communes and towns all expressed their determination to achieve 100% of the 2024 military recruitment target, and localities paid attention to implementing good policies for the welfare of military families.

According to the Dong Nai Provincial Military Service Council, in 2024, the province nominated 4,019 young men, selecting 3,045 to receive conscription orders (including 2,904 official citizens and 141 reserve citizens); among them were 56 Party members, 674 citizens with intermediate, college, or university degrees, 46 civil servants, and 151 children of officials.

According to Vo Tan Duc, Acting Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee and Chairman of the Provincial Military Service Council, the youth of Dong Nai are worthily inheriting the arduous yet heroic traditions of the Eastern region and the impregnable Southern region, actively volunteering for military service. The quality of young people enlisting in 2024 is higher in all aspects compared to previous years, with a significant proportion of those holding college or university degrees.

"This shows that the youth of our province are clearly aware of their role and responsibility in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland; contributing to supplementing the resources for building a high-quality, lean, and strong army, ready to defend the Fatherland in all situations," said Mr. Vo Tan Duc.
