Dong Thap provides free health check-ups for 1.9 million people.

TPO - Dong Thap province has officially launched a program offering free periodic health check-ups and screenings for its residents. The program is expected to provide check-ups for over 1.9 million people this year.

On May 25th, at the Cao Lanh 1 Regional Health Center and Tinh Thoi Kindergarten (Cao Lanh ward), hundreds of elderly people, war invalids, people with disabilities, and children came to the screening point. Doctors conducted thorough screenings and provided attentive advice to each person.

Mr. Tran Van Thanh (68 years old) said that being able to proactively get check-ups like this helps elderly people like him relieve psychological burdens and detect age-related diseases in time for early treatment.

Inspecting the health check-up activities for residents in Cao Lanh ward, Mr. Huynh Minh Tuan - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Dong Thap province - stated that this is a policy with profound humanitarian significance, contributing to improving the quality of life for people and ensuring social security. Therefore, units must ensure professional quality and maintain a dedicated and attentive service attitude. They must also prepare sufficient personnel, equipment, medicines, and medical supplies to best serve the people.

Mr. Huynh Minh Tuan, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Dong Thap province, inspected the screening site at Tinh Thoi Kindergarten, Cao Lanh ward.

On the same day, May 25th, the Sa Dec 1 Regional Health Center and Tan Khanh Dong Kindergarten (Sa Dec ward) received, conducted general check-ups, and provided health consultations for over 520 residents and students. Mr. Nguyen Phuoc Thien, Vice Chairman of the Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee, personally inspected and directed the health check-up activities for the people at these locations.

According to the plan, Dong Thap province aims to ensure that 100% of priority groups (people with meritorious service, poor and near-poor households, social welfare beneficiaries, people over 60 years old, children under 6 years old, people with chronic diseases, etc.) receive free screening at least once a year.

It is expected that this year, more than 1.9 million people in Dong Thap province will receive free routine health check-ups and screenings. The results will be directly updated to the electronic health record to monitor the health of the entire population.
