The meteorological agency forecasts that on the evening and night of June 22nd, the provinces of Hoa Binh, Yen Bai, Ha Giang, Tuyen Quang, Cao Bang, Bac Kan, Lang Son, Phu Tho, Thai Nguyen, Vinh Phuc, Bac Giang, Bac Ninh, and Hanoi will experience moderate to heavy rain and thunderstorms, with some areas experiencing very heavy rain. Rainfall amounts will generally range from 20-50mm, with some areas exceeding 150mm. A warning is issued regarding the risk of localized heavy rainfall (>100mm/3h).
On June 22nd, both day and night, other areas in Northern Vietnam and Thanh Hoa experienced scattered showers and thunderstorms, with some areas experiencing heavy rain with rainfall exceeding 50mm.
On the afternoon and evening of June 22nd, the Central Highlands and Southern regions experienced scattered showers and thunderstorms, with some areas receiving heavy to very heavy rain, with rainfall amounts ranging from 10-30mm, and some areas exceeding 60mm.
"During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail, and strong gusts of wind. Heavy rain is likely to cause flooding in low-lying areas, urban and industrial zones; flash floods on small rivers and streams, and landslides on slopes," the National Center for Meteorological and Hydrological Forecasting warned.
The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting also predicts that heavy rainfall in the Northern region will gradually decrease from June 23rd.
Regarding the situation at sea, the National Meteorological and Hydrological Agency reported that the eastern part of the Central East Sea, the northern part of the Southern East Sea (including the waters around the Spratly Islands), the sea area from Ca Mau to Kien Giang, and the Gulf of Thailand are experiencing showers and thunderstorms.
The forecast for day and night of June 22nd indicates showers and thunderstorms in the southern part of the Central East Sea, the northern part of the Southern East Sea (including the waters around the Spratly Islands), the sea area from Binh Thuan to Ca Mau, Ca Mau to Kien Giang, and the Gulf of Thailand. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, strong gusts of wind (level 6-7), and waves exceeding 2.0 meters.
Additionally, on June 22nd, the northern part of the Gulf of Tonkin will experience strong southerly winds of force 5, sometimes force 6, with gusts up to force 7; the sea will be rough.
All vessels operating in these areas are at risk of being affected by tornadoes and strong gusts of wind.
