Opening of the first plenary session of the Four-Party Conference on Vietnam in Paris.

On January 25, 1969, at the Kléber Conference Center in Paris (France), the first plenary session of the Four-Party Conference on Vietnam officially opened, with the participation of the United States, the Democratic Republic of Vietnam, the Saigon Government, and the National Liberation Front of South Vietnam.

At the meeting, the delegation of the National Liberation Front of South Vietnam presented a five-point position, affirming the right to self-determination of the people of South Vietnam, demanding that the US withdraw its troops and respect Vietnam's independence, unity, and territorial integrity.

The delegation of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam emphasized the righteousness of the resistance war against the US, the great victories of our army and people, and affirmed the unwavering will to fight to the end for independence and freedom.

This session marked the beginning of a lengthy negotiation process that led to the signing of the Paris Agreement in 1973.

The Do Temple is classified as a historical and cultural relic.

On January 25, 1991, the Do Temple (Ly Bat De Temple) in Dinh Bang village, former Tien Son district (formerly Tu Son city), Bac Ninh province, was recognized by the State as a national historical and cultural relic.

The temple, built in the 11th century in the birthplace of the Ly Dynasty, is dedicated to eight kings, from Ly Thai To to Ly Hue Tong.

According to historical research and cultural documents, the Do Temple is an important religious center, associated with the nation-building and capital-opening efforts of Ly Cong Uan - the person who issued the Edict to move the capital in 1010, laying the foundation for Thang Long.

The Den Do Temple Festival, held annually from the 15th to the 17th of March in the lunar calendar, commemorates the coronation of Ly Thai To and is one of the major festivals of the Kinh Bac region, contributing to the preservation and promotion of national cultural heritage.

The titles of People's Artist and Meritorious Artist were bestowed upon 189 artists.

On January 25, 1984, the Chairman of the Council of Ministers issued Decision No. 44/CT, bestowing the titles of People's Artist and Meritorious Artist upon 189 artists in various performing arts.

This is the first awarding of prestigious state honors, recognizing the contributions of artists and writers to the revolutionary cause and national development.

According to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the establishment of the system of titles People's Artist and Meritorious Artist demonstrates the special attention of the Party and the State to literature and art - a field that plays an important role in the spiritual life of society.

Many of the artists honored in this first round are big names in theater, music , and film, who have dedicated their lives to the arts and trained many succeeding generations.

Alexander Graham Bell's first transcontinental telephone call.

On January 25, 1915, inventor Alexander Graham Bell made the first transcontinental telephone call in history, from New York to San Francisco, speaking with his partner Thomas A. Watson. This event occurred after the United States completed the telephone cable connecting the East and West Coasts.

According to documents from the U.S. Library of Congress and the Encyclopaedia Britannica, Bell repeated the famous 1876 phrase: “Mr. Watson, come here, I want to see you,” and Watson responded from the other end of the line, more than 5,000 kilometers away.

This call marked a significant leap forward in telecommunications technology, ushering in an era of long-distance communication and laying the foundation for the future global information system.

Opening Ceremony of the First Winter Olympic Games in Chamonix

On January 25, 1924, the first Winter Olympic Games officially opened in Chamonix, France. According to the International Olympic Committee (IOC), the Games featured 258 athletes from 16 countries competing in six winter sports.

Initially known as the "Winter Sports Week" alongside the 1924 Paris Olympics, the event was later recognized by the IOC as the first Winter Olympic Games.

According to various sources, the opening ceremony took place on January 25th and the closing ceremony on February 5th, 1924.

Chamonix 1924 laid the foundation for the Winter Olympic Games system, which has become an integral part of the global Olympic movement.

Establishment of Moscow State University

On January 25, 1755 (according to the Julian calendar), Empress Elizaveta Petrovna signed a decree establishing Moscow University, now the M.V. Lomonosov Moscow State University. It is the oldest and largest university in Russia, playing a central role in the country's higher education system.

According to historical records, the founding of the school is associated with the scientist Mikhail Lomonosov, with the aim of building a multidisciplinary training institution to serve the scientific and cultural development of the Russian Empire.

Over more than 250 years, Moscow State University has trained many famous scientists, writers, and politicians who have had a profound influence both inside and outside Russia. January 25th was later chosen as Russian Student Day.

The first Television Emmy Awards

On January 25, 1949, the first Emmy Awards ceremony was held at the Hollywood Sports Club in Los Angeles, USA.

According to the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, the ceremony initially only honored programs and individuals in the Los Angeles area, and was not yet nationwide.

The name "Emmy" comes from "immy" - an affectionate term for the early television camera lens.

The year 1949 marked the birth of the most prestigious award in television, the equivalent of the Oscars in film. From its humble beginnings, the Emmy Awards have grown into an international awards system with a significant influence on the global television industry.
