According to information from the Phu Tho Provincial Police on June 3rd, a female student residing in Dung Tien commune was unfortunately bitten by a centipede right before taking the mathematics exam for the 10th grade high school entrance exam.

Remarkably, despite her body aching, she was determined to go to Sao Bay High School to take the exam.

During the exam, the student's health deteriorated with symptoms such as general body aches and severe fatigue, forcing her to stop midway. Medical staff at the exam site provided first aid and administered intravenous fluids to stabilize her condition in the infirmary.

Prioritizing the health and safety of the candidate, the Hop Kim commune police coordinated with the examination board and the family to take the student to the Kim Boi Regional Medical Center for examination and treatment.

According to an official assisting with the case, the female student had not yet finished her Math exam when she was taken to the emergency room. However, she had completed the Literature and English exams earlier without incident. Abandoning the exam midway due to unforeseen circumstances could lower a student's admission score, significantly reducing their chances of being accepted into a public school.

Currently, the regulations for admission to junior and senior high schools issued by the Ministry of Education and Training do not provide any basis for granting special admission to grade 10 for similar cases. The entrance exam for grade 10 in public high schools in Phu Tho province took place over two days, June 1-2, with more than 57,000 candidates participating.

Students take three exams: Mathematics, Literature, and English. Candidates applying to specialized high schools will take an additional specialized subject exam on the morning of June 3rd.

Also during this exam, another special case was recorded when the Phu Tho ward police, along with the examination board of the Provincial Ethnic Boarding School, arranged transportation to take a student from the hospital to the exam site, immediately after learning that the student had undergone emergency surgery for appendicitis the previous evening.
