License granted for VTV6 sports channel to operate.

VHO - The Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism has granted a license to Vietnam Television to produce the sports channel VTV6.

According to the license, the sports channel's mission and purpose is to disseminate information, promote the Party's guidelines and policies, and the State's laws and regulations in the field of physical education and sports; and to promote the development of mass sports, school sports, and professional sports.

The channel aims to inspire and encourage physical training and regular exercise, promote a healthy and positive lifestyle, and contribute to protecting, caring for, and improving the health of the people, as well as the holistic development of Vietnamese people.

VTV6 channel uses the Vietnamese language, serves all segments of the population, and broadcasts continuously from 0:00 to 24:00 every day. The total broadcast time is 24 hours/day.

The channel is offered through both broadcast and pay-TV methods. In terms of broadcasting infrastructure, the channel is available on various service types such as terrestrial digital television, analog cable television, digital cable television, IPTV, satellite television, mobile television, and internet-based broadcasting services.

In addition, the channel is permitted to transmit and broadcast on the DVB-T2 terrestrial digital television system directly managed by VTV, provided it meets legal regulations; and is also available on websites and internet applications managed by VTV in accordance with current regulations.

The launch of the sports television channel is expected to create another specialized platform for sports, meeting the needs of a large audience nationwide who want to follow sports events, tournaments, and information.

The launch ceremony for VTV6 will take place at 8:30 AM on June 8th and will be broadcast live on VTV1.
