Recently, the Bangladesh Football Federation (BFF) has planned to organize a series of international friendly matches during FIFA Days in September 2025 to prepare for the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers. Notably, the BFF is said to have sent invitations to the Vietnam and Cambodia national teams.

However, the Vietnam Football Federation (VFF) said that it will not gather the national team during FIFA Days in September. The reason is because coach Kim Sang Sik and the coaching staff are prioritizing the Vietnam U23 team to participate in the 2025 Southeast Asian U23 Championship in July and then the 2026 Asian U23 Qualifiers taking place in Viet Tri ( Phu Tho ) in September.
With a tight schedule for U23 Vietnam, it is likely that VFF will not agree to the friendly invitation from BFF. If that happens, the Vietnam team will miss the opportunity to face midfielder Hamza Choudhury, a player playing in the Premier League for Leicester City and winning the FA Cup with this club in 2021.

According to plan, the Vietnam team will gather again during FIFA Days in October to prepare for the match against Nepal at home on October 9, followed by the return match away on October 14.
