The contractor mobilized 17 construction teams, accelerating the progress.

"Currently, the contractor has mobilized 17 construction teams, with nearly 70 machines of various types, along with 6 asphalt concrete mixing plants and 2 cement concrete mixing plants. The total number of personnel mobilized is approximately 150 people. This includes 4 teams for scraping and recycling, 3 teams for asphalt concrete paving, 4 teams for cement-soil pile construction at the culvert entrances, 3 teams for culvert transition slab construction, and 3 teams for expanding the emergency stopping lanes," Mr. Thi informed.

To ensure traffic safety, the investor has instructed the relevant units to regularly patrol and inspect road surface damage and promptly repair it, in order to maintain traffic safety on the route.

The contractor is taking advantage of the current favorable weather to increase construction efforts and accelerate progress. The cumulative output to date has reached approximately 94 billion VND, equivalent to 17% of the contract value.

The My Thuan Project Management Board has directed contractors and construction units to work overtime, increase shifts, and add more construction teams. They have also proposed a construction plan to continue working throughout the Tet holiday to accelerate progress and strive to complete the project before June 30, 2025, three months ahead of the contract commitment.

As Tien Phong newspaper reported, the project to upgrade the road surface of the Lo Te - Rach Soi route has a total investment of approximately 750 billion VND, funded by the central government budget, with the Ministry of Transport as the investor. Construction started in June 2024 and is expected to be completed in June 2025.

Phase 1 of the Lo Te - Rach Soi route has a total length of 51 km and a total investment of over 6,300 billion VND. The starting point is at the intersection of the Vam Cong bridge and the bypass of National Highway 91 (in Vinh Thanh district, Can Tho city), and the end point is at the Rach Gia city bypass (Kien Giang province). The road was completed and put into operation in January 2021, but less than 3 years after its completion, it suffered serious damage and required upgrading.
