
The heavy rains in Ho Chi Minh City are likely to last until the end of May.
According to the Southern Vietnam Meteorological and Hydrological Station, over the past 24 hours, Ho Chi Minh City has experienced heavy rain accompanied by thunderstorms in many areas.
Rainfall measured from 7:00 AM on May 28th to 7:00 AM on May 29th at several locations included: Phuoc Hoi 81.2 mm, Bau Lam 70.8 mm, Xuyen Moc 55.2 mm, and Tam Thon Hiep 47.6 mm.
According to forecasts, over the next 24 to 48 hours (from 1 PM on May 29th to 1 PM on May 31st), Ho Chi Minh City will continue to experience moderate to heavy rain and thunderstorms. Total rainfall is expected to be between 90-150 mm, with some areas receiving over 150 mm.

Over the next 48 to 72 hours, heavy rainfall in the Ho Chi Minh City area is expected to gradually decrease. The total rainfall from 1 PM on June 1st to 1 PM on June 2nd will generally range from 30-70 mm, with some areas exceeding 70 mm.
The meteorological agency warns of the possibility of heavy rain causing flooding in low-lying areas, urban and industrial zones, and areas along rivers and canals. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail, and strong gusts of wind.

From early morning to noon on May 29th, the sky over Ho Chi Minh City was covered with dark clouds, the weather was gloomy, and many areas experienced scattered to prolonged rain.
Some areas experienced moderate to heavy rain. While the heavy rains weren't continuous, light rain occurred intermittently, leaving many areas constantly damp.
The meteorological agency reports that the weather system causing thunderstorms in the area today is due to a low-pressure trough with its axis passing through Southern Vietnam and South Central Vietnam. Southwesterly winds are of moderate intensity over the seas of Southern Vietnam.
