News, forecast of coffee prices tomorrow 8/3/2025
Forecast of domestic coffee prices on August 3, 2025
Domestic coffee prices on August 2, 2025 continued to be under strong downward pressure from the world market. The simultaneous decrease of 400 - 600 VND/kg brought the price to a new low, fluctuating around 99,200 - 99,500 VND/kg.
With the international market, especially Robusta prices in London, also on a sharp decline, it is likely that domestic coffee prices will continue their downward trend on August 3, 2025. However, the decrease may not be too large as prices have been at a low level in the short term.
World Coffee Price Forecast August 3, 2025
The prospect of ample supplies from Brazil and Vietnam, coupled with high Robusta inventories on ICE, will continue to exert downward pressure on prices. Hedge funds are also increasing their short positions, indicating bearish sentiment. As a result, Robusta prices are expected to continue their downward trend, with some minor fluctuations.
The Arabica market is more unpredictable. Although prices fell sharply on August 2, 2025, news of the US imposing a 50% tariff on Brazilian coffee could be a surprise factor causing a price recovery. Similar news has sent prices soaring in the past. However, this factor is contradicting the tariff exemption rumors that caused prices to fall earlier.
Low Arabica inventories (5.5-month low) and Volcafe’s forecast of shortages are also supportive factors. Therefore, Arabica prices are likely to see strong volatility on August 3, 2025, with the possibility of a rebound due to supply concerns from Brazil.
General future trends
Overall, the coffee market is in a period of uncertainty. Although global production is forecast to increase to a record level, trade policies and local shortages of Arabica are providing price support. However, with panic selling prevailing and Robusta supplies abundant, the short-term trend remains bearish. The main factors that will impact the market in the coming period are:
Official developments on US import tariffs on coffee from Brazil and other countries.
Production and export reports from major producing countries.
Hedge funds' moves in the futures market.
