Based on the score distribution and admission data of previous years, Hanoi University of Science and Technology predicts that the admission score for regular university training programs in 2025 will be from 19-28 points.
Specifically, the groups of Computer Engineering, Information Technology (Global ICT), Cyber Security (advanced program), Control Engineering - Automation, Microelectronics Engineering and Nanotechnology, and Vietnam - Japan Information Technology are expected to take in the range of 26.5 - 28.
On the contrary, some majors can take 19 points such as Business Administration (in cooperation with Troy University), Natural Resources and Environmental Management, Chinese for Science, Engineering and Technology.

At the University of Technology, Ho Chi Minh City National University, according to Associate Professor Dr. Bui Hoai Thang, Head of the school's Training Department, in the competition with top schools, the University of Technology has not changed much, because it reserves 95-99% of its quota for the comprehensive admission method, with a minimum score of 50 points (on a scale of 100).
However, this year, due to the need to adjust the admission score calculation formula, according to Mr. Thang, the school's benchmark score may decrease slightly, for training majors with average entrance scores in previous years.
With hot majors attracting many candidates such as Computer Science; Computer Engineering; Control Engineering and Automation; Logistics and Supply Chain Management;.... this expert predicts that the benchmark score will likely remain stable and not decrease much.
"Whether converted to a 90 or 100 point scale, the number of good candidates is still concentrated in these majors, and the admission scores are all very high. Therefore, the standard score cannot be reduced like other majors," Associate Professor, Dr. Bui Hoai Thang explained.
The benchmark score of Ho Chi Minh City University of Industry based on the high school graduation exam results may decrease by about 1 point, according to the forecast of Dr. Nguyen Trung Nhan, Head of the school's Training Department. According to Mr. Nhan, this year's high school graduation exam has many innovations in structure and content, in which teachers and candidates evaluate the Math and English subjects as long and difficult. Therefore, the average score of these two subjects may decrease.
"All of the school's training programs use Math or English scores, so the standard score based on graduation exam scores will decrease slightly, by about 1 point," Dr. Nhan predicted. The expected standard score for each program ranges from 18 to 25 points.
On the contrary, Dr. Nhan believes that the benchmark scores for the remaining methods are likely to increase. "To ensure input quality, the benchmark scores for other admission methods such as the results of the competency assessment exam; admission combined with academic records and foreign language certificates; excellent student achievements, etc. will not decrease, and may even increase. Candidates need to pay special attention," said Dr. Nguyen Trung Nhan.
At the University of Electricity, Dr. Trinh Van Toan, Head of Training Management Department, said that the school's admission scores are likely to fluctuate slightly compared to last year, depending on the trend of candidates' registration wishes.
According to Mr. Toan, after the school conducted a preliminary survey, many traditional majors still maintained stable attraction. Among them, majors in the Engineering - Technology group continue to attract a large number of candidates such as Information Technology, Logistics, Control and Automation Engineering Technology...
“For hot majors in the Engineering - Technology group, the possibility of a sharp decrease in benchmark scores will be very low. We predict that this year's benchmark scores may remain stable or decrease slightly depending on the major,” said Mr. Toan.
Similarly, Mr. Bui Quang Trung, Deputy Head of the Department of Communications and Admissions, Hanoi University of Civil Engineering , said that based on the score distribution of this year's high school graduation exam, the admission scores for the school's majors are likely to decrease compared to last year. However, the decrease is not uniform, depending on each major.
"This year's benchmark score is expected to be lower, but the level of decrease will vary from industry to industry," said Mr. Trung.
