According to the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Tourism , in the nine days from April 25th to May 3rd, 2026, the city welcomed approximately 190,000 international visitors and 1.5 million domestic visitors. The significant increase in visitor numbers, diverse tourism products, and simultaneous promotional activities have contributed to the city's continued affirmation of its role as a leading tourism center in the country.
Compared to the same period in 2025, Ho Chi Minh City's tourism sector during the April 30th - May 1st holiday this year recorded significant growth, with total revenue estimated at 8,700 billion VND, an increase of over 20% compared to approximately 7,138 billion VND last year. Both domestic and international tourist numbers increased, and average spending per tourist improved thanks to a wider variety of products and experiences.
From the beginning of April, Ho Chi Minh City launched a series of stimulus programs, announcing nearly 1,000 new tourism products and services. The highlight was the 22nd Ho Chi Minh City Tourism Festival with the theme "Exciting Summer" to create a strong ripple effect among tourists.
Meanwhile, the Vietnamese Bread Festival brought together approximately 150 stalls, offering an experiential space ranging from traditional to innovative. Activities such as the "bread of the past and present" exhibition and live bread-making demonstrations attracted a large number of locals and tourists.
During peak season, the city also organizes the "National Unity" program, featuring fireworks displays at 7 locations along with art performance stages in the city center and surrounding areas, contributing to a vibrant festive atmosphere and enhancing the nighttime experience.
Notably, Ho Chi Minh City continues to attract MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) tourists, with a group of nearly 900 guests from Indonesia, sponsored by Allianz Indonesia, staying for an extended period at central hotels. This is seen as a positive sign for the high-spending tourist segment.

Programs such as rooftop fireworks viewing at hotels, night tours, and deals on night flights have contributed to diversifying the experience. The city has also coordinated the implementation of "Travel Pass" packages that integrate transportation, dining , and shopping, making it more convenient for tourists to travel.
During the holiday period, management in 168 wards, communes, and special zones was implemented synchronously, ensuring security and order, controlling prices, and maintaining service quality. Harassment and unreasonable price increases were significantly reduced compared to previous years. Local authorities also proactively organized cultural activities and festivals, while encouraging community participation in tourism. Several agricultural and experiential tourism models in suburban areas have initially attracted attention, especially from families.
