Bringing safe agricultural products to consumers

Agricultural products must have clear evidence of production conditions, raw material origin, meeting standards on product quality, food hygiene and safety, environmental protection during the production process... At the same time, when put on the market, these products must have full codes, barcodes, and traceability stamps on the product packaging. Therefore, it can be said that the OCOP program has encouraged producers to change their sustainable economic thinking and helped bring safe agricultural products to consumers.

Hoa Phong High Quality Agricultural Service Cooperative (Dong Trieu Ward) was established in 2010 and is currently one of the leading units in the province's OCOP program with a safe food supply chain. Specifically, the Cooperative rents local agricultural land to build large-scale field models; guides farmers to strictly apply organic and biological production processes, ensuring good food safety standards in the field of agricultural production. Vegetable fields only use organic fertilizers, manure, and microorganisms without using any additional chemicals. Crop-destroying insects are only caught by hand or using sticky traps, spraying herbal pesticides, etc.

The Hoa Phong High Quality Agricultural Service Cooperative has also invested in building a synchronous, modern, and closed product preservation system. The safe vegetable products and agricultural products of this unit currently have full packaging and labels, in accordance with regulations. Thanks to that, up to now, the Cooperative has supplied industrial kitchens and sold about 2 tons of vegetables, tubers, and fruits to the market every day; the Dong Trieu golden sticky rice brand is also regularly supplied to the market in the province and served for export. When agricultural products are trusted and welcomed by consumers, the income of farmers increases day by day.

In Dam Ha commune, organic passion fruit growing models are also being encouraged to be replicated, bringing high economic efficiency to many farming households, cooperatives, and agricultural cooperatives. Since 2023, the locality has actively reviewed, advised, and supported people to convert ineffective crop structures to participate in the project to develop concentrated fruit tree production. In particular, households, cooperatives, and agricultural enterprises are encouraged and supported to apply science and technology, new varieties in production, apply advanced farming processes, and bring clean, high-quality agricultural products to the market. With the support of Saigon - Gia Lai Joint Stock Company (a unit that provides seeds and purchases all products), passion fruit gardens in Dam Ha are strictly ensured from the stages of seed selection, planting, care, to harvesting and preservation. Thanks to that, they have ensured extremely strict standards, qualified for export to the European market.

Thanks to the attention of the province and the efforts of farmers, businesses and cooperatives, Quang Ninh's agricultural sector is gradually developing in a modern and sustainable direction; contributing to improving productivity, product quality and improving farmers' lives. Notably, many technical advances have been applied such as remote-controlled aircraft spraying pesticides, water-saving irrigation systems, tray seeding machines, transplanters, combine harvesters... which not only help save time and costs, but also reduce labor, and improve production efficiency. Farmers' Associations at all levels also pay great attention to propaganda and mobilizing members to change their mindset to safe production, using biological products instead of chemical fertilizers and pesticides; at the same time, organizing practical experience learning programs; Cooperating with cooperatives and cooperative groups to supply microbiological and organic materials... The province has also planned concentrated production areas, issued codes for growing areas, registered aquaculture, and applied safety standards such as VietGAP and organic to increase product reliability.

The OCOP program has contributed to consolidating a solid foundation for Quang Ninh's safe agricultural product brand, aiming at sustainable socio-economic development.
