The German national team had an impressive warm-up for the 2026 World Cup, winning convincingly 4-0 against Finland in a friendly match. Against a supposedly weaker opponent, coach Julian Nagelsmann decided to give opportunities to several new and reserve players in the starting lineup, such as Undav, Karl, and Nmecha.
Despite not fielding their strongest lineup, Germany quickly took control of the game. With superior personnel, the home team controlled possession well and continuously launched attacks towards goalkeeper Hradecky's goal. However, the Finnish defense played with great concentration for most of the early stages of the match, forcing Germany to wait until the 33rd minute to score the opening goal.

From a well-placed pass by Kimmich, Undav finished accurately, giving Germany a 1-0 lead. This goal helped Nagelsmann's team play more freely for the remainder of the match.
At the start of the second half, Germany further increased their lead. In the 48th minute, Markhiyev made a misplaced pass inside the Finnish penalty area, and Undav intercepted the ball. Instead of shooting, the Stuttgart striker passed it sideways, allowing Wirtz to easily score and make it 2-0.
In the 56th minute, Undav completed his brilliant performance with his second goal after a sharp counter-attack. Just six minutes later, Musiala sealed the victory with a powerful left-footed shot that nestled into the top corner of the net, making it 4-0.
This is perfect preparation for the German national team ahead of the World Cup. They also have a notable friendly match against co-hosts the USA on June 7th.
