On the morning of May 17th, the Hai Phong Legacy Marathon 2026 - Footprints of the Port City, took place on Vu Yen Island, Hai Phong City, with the participation of over 8,000 domestic and international athletes. Notably, Deputy Prime Minister Le Tien Chau personally attended and participated in the race.

The event brought together dozens of running clubs from across the country, including many prominent athletes such as Pham Thi Hong Le - the owner of many SEA Games medals in the 42km marathon distance, and Huynh Anh Khoi - who is known as the "king of marathons" in Vietnam.
