Overcoming representatives from 22 countries, Duc Phuc was crowned champion at Intervision 2025.

Having just made history for himself and Vietnamese music, singer Duc Phuc received congratulations from Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh .

The story of 44 years

On the night of September 20th (Vietnam time), the final of the Intervision Song Contest 2025 took place at Live Arena, Moscow (Russia). Vietnamese singer Duc Phuc, representing Vietnam, brilliantly won first place with his impressive performance of the song "Phu Dong Thien Vuong". This is considered a historic victory, affirming the position of young Vietnamese artists on the world music stage. During the competition, Duc Phuc surpassed the Nomad Trio from Kyrgyzstan and singer Dana Al Meer from Qatar to claim the top prize.

This is the biggest international victory for a Vietnamese singer since 1981, when singer Ai Van won the grand prize at the Dresden International Music Festival (Germany) with the song "Song of Construction".

After 44 years, Vietnamese music and Vietnamese voices have once again reached the pinnacle of success at an international competition.

Upon receiving the news that singer Duc Phuc, representing Vietnam, had excellently won first place at the Intervision 2025 International Music Competition, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh sent a congratulatory letter, commending Duc Phuc's outstanding efforts and excellent achievement.

Vietnamese identity

The song "Phù Đổng Thiên Vương," composed by musician Hồ Hoài Anh, is inspired by the poem "Vietnamese Bamboo" by poet Nguyễn Duy. With its unique arrangement, combining folk elements with modern rap, the song conveys a message about hidden strength, indomitable spirit, and national pride. Đức Phúc's performance made a strong impression thanks to the meticulous investment in music, stage design, and costumes, both honoring traditional culture and creating a sense of closeness with the international audience.

Duc Phuc stated that the reason for choosing the song "Phu Dong Thien Vuong" was to present a story and a performance deeply rooted in Vietnamese identity. "Phu Dong Thien Vuong" is a symbol of the strength, resilience, and tenacity of the Vietnamese people. The story of "Saint Giong - Phu Dong Thien Vuong" and the image of the Vietnamese bamboo tree are not only Vietnamese legends but also a common symbol of the fighting spirit, ability to overcome challenges, and resilience of the Vietnamese people. "From this idea, my team and I thought about combining epic elements with modern music, creating a performance that is both familiar to Vietnamese audiences and has a modern feel, so that international friends can better understand Vietnamese culture and identity," Duc Phuc expressed.

Exactly 10 years after winning The Voice 2015, Duc Phuc continued his success by becoming an international champion, winning Intervision Song Contest 2025. Duc Phuc's victory not only concludes his proud journey at the Intervision Song Contest 2025, but also opens a new door for Vietnamese artists to establish their names internationally. This success is a strong source of inspiration for young talents and contributes to promoting Vietnamese culture and art to friends around the world.

Sharing the criteria for selecting the artist to represent Vietnam at Intervision 2025, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong emphasized: "We set clear and strict criteria when selecting the artist to represent the country at the Intervision 2025 international music competition, which are: The artist must have extensive stage performance experience, be suitable for the music genre of the competition; choose a song that captures international music trends, has the potential to create a strong ripple effect, and possess impressive artistic achievements, with an image that inspires the public, especially young people. And Duc Phuc has met these criteria."

The Intervision Song Contest 2025 is a prestigious music competition that brings together outstanding vocalists from many countries, organized with the goal of celebrating musical talent and creativity in performance. Intervision 2025 also marks the first time this prestigious international music competition has been held in Russia after more than 30 years of interruption.

The prize for the winner of Intervision 2025 is worth 30 million rubles (equivalent to 360,000 USD, or over 9 billion Vietnamese dong). This is considered the largest prize in Intervision's history, affirming the scale and prestige of the competition.
