Railway increases many tourist trains to Sapa

Hanoi Railway Transport Joint Stock Company said that the railway will increase many trains from Hanoi to Lao Cai in November and December to serve tourists exploring Sapa.

Specifically, train SP1 will run every Friday and Saturday on November 3, 4, 9, 10, 17, 24, 2023 and December 1, 8, 9, 15, 22, 29, 2023 from Hanoi to Lao Cai. Train SP1 departs from Hanoi station at 9:35 p.m. and arrives at Lao Cai station at 5:15 a.m.

Currently, on this route, the railway is operating the SP3/SP4 train pair every day. The SP3 train departs from Hanoi station at 10:00 p.m. and arrives at Lao Cai station at 5:55 a.m.; the SP4 train departs from Lao Cai station at 9:50 p.m. and arrives at Hanoi station at 5:25 a.m.

Ticket prices vary depending on travel time and seat type. On weekdays, the average ticket price ranges from 346,000 - 370,000 VND/4-bed sleeper ticket; on weekends, the ticket price ranges from 346,000 - 401,000 VND/4-bed sleeper ticket. When purchasing round-trip tickets, passengers receive a 15% discount on the return ticket price.

The railway sells bus tickets from Lao Cai station to destinations in Sapa (within a 2km radius of the stone church) and vice versa, the ticket price is 55,000 VND/person/trip. Passengers can buy bus tickets when buying train tickets directly at the station, at an agent or online.
