Jobe Bellingham is the most expensive player in Sunderland's history. |
According to Sky Sports , Dortmund spent 33 million euros, plus 5 million euros in additional fees to acquire the services of Jobe Bellingham. This is a record-breaking player sale in Sunderland's history. The deal also includes a 15% resale clause, and will be the highest transfer fee Sunderland has ever received.
It's a great addition for Dortmund and an impressive deal for Sunderland after they rejected an initial bid of €20m. Transfer expert Fabrizio Romano used the familiar phrase "Here we go" to confirm the deal was done.
The Italian journalist added: "Without add-ons, Jobe Bellingham would be the second most expensive signing in Dortmund's history, and if add-ons are activated, the fee could be even higher."
Jobe Bellingham enjoyed an excellent 2024/25 season, helping Sunderland secure promotion back to the Premier League by winning the Championship play-off final after an eight-year absence from the top flight.
Like his famous brother, Jobe is versatile in both midfield and attack. Jobe is expected to follow in the footsteps of his older brother Jude Bellingham, who also joined Dortmund, shone in the Bundesliga before moving to Real Madrid. Jude Bellingham is currently England's number one midfielder.
