Die-hard fans of Son Tung M-TP undergo a transformation to emulate the artist's visual style.

Driven by a dream of performing on stage and possessing the charisma of his idol Son Tung M-TP, Le Chi Nguyen embarked on a 120-day journey at Kangnam not to become someone else — but to optimize his features, to make his face perfectly match his artistic aspirations.

Le Chi Nguyen is a young man who loves music and has idolized Son Tung M-TP for many years. For Nguyen, the stage requires not only a good voice and performance skills but also impressive visuals that audiences will remember from the first glance. However, Nguyen's initial appearance had some limitations, such as a slightly protruding jaw, a receding chin, M-shaped balding hair, and an overall lack of striking features when appearing on camera. "Appearance doesn't replace talent, but it's something that helps artists make a faster impression on the audience," Nguyen shared.

Is cosmetic surgery not about "tearing down and rebuilding"?

At first glance, many people think, "This face doesn't have many flaws." But that's precisely the challenge. Le Chi Nguyen's goal isn't just "ordinary beauty," but beauty for the camera – beauty for standing under the spotlight .

Instead of opting for a complete reconstruction, the medical team designed a corrective plan for Nguyện that optimized her facial structure, preserving her natural features while still creating a captivating stage presence.

Initially, the only solution considered was chin augmentation to improve the angle of the face. However, after in-depth consultations, the doctors determined that the problem wasn't solely with the chin but stemmed from the overall jaw-chin axis. " If we only performed chin augmentation, the jaw-chin axis wouldn't achieve optimal symmetry in photos, so we decided to correct both jaws and perform chin sliding for Nguyen," said Dr. Edward Nguyen (Nguyen Khac Hao), Head of the Maxillofacial Department at Kangnam Saigon Aesthetic Hospital.

Instead of chin augmentation as originally planned, the doctors decided to perform jaw correction and chin sliding.

The final approach for the treatment plan is to reconstruct the entire jawbone structure first, then refine the details above. This is the philosophy of beauty based on structure, proportion, and expression , rather than working on individual parts separately.

A three-step intervention process to create an "artist's visual"

According to the medical team, Chi Nguyen's transformation journey was carried out in stages rather than all at once. The first surgery lasted approximately 180 minutes and involved Dr. Richard Huy (Vo Tien Huy), Dr. Felix Tran (Tran Huynh), and Dr. Edward Nguyen (Nguyen Khac Hao).

The goal was to correct mild overbite and receding chin while maintaining natural features. After the procedure, Nguyen's profile changed significantly, with his jaw and chin becoming more balanced. According to the doctor, this was the most important step because bone structure determines almost the entire facial proportion. After this step, Nguyen's jaw-chin axis completely changed when viewed from the side.

A month after jaw correction, Nguyện underwent a FUE hair transplant procedure with approximately 1,000 hair follicles, performed by Dr. Lucas Hoàng (Hoàng Văn Tiệm). Hair was taken from the back of her head and transplanted into Nguyện's M-shaped bald area. The transplant of 1,000 hair follicles was meticulously performed by Dr. Lucas Hoàng over many hours to adjust the hairline, resulting in a more balanced facial appearance when viewed from the front. The team considered this a small detail but one that significantly impacted the "cinematic" look on camera.

In the third and final stage, the two medical teams continued to refine the soft tissue details to complete the overall visual. Dr. Mark Nguyen (Nguyen Huu Doan) performed eyelid surgery, eyelid fat grafting, and full-face fat grafting to reduce the gaunt appearance and create a more defined look. Meanwhile, Dr. Harvey Nguyen (Nguyen Quoc Chi) handled the rhinoplasty and bone reshaping to create a central focal point for the face. After these interventions, Chi Nguyen's face became sharper while still retaining its natural masculinity. This was the final step to achieve a stage-ready look and make Le Chi Nguyen appear younger than his actual age.

According to the medical team, many cosmetic surgery failures stem from undergoing too many interventions at once without a comprehensive strategy. For Chi Nguyen, the treatment plan was structured in a specific order: first, correcting the bone structure, then perfecting the facial framework, and finally refining the overall look. In addition to cosmetic surgery, Nguyen also received treatment for acne scars and orthodontic treatment to achieve long-term improvement in her appearance.

After 120 days, the young man has a new look with: a more defined profile, a more defined jawline, a higher, straighter nose, and a deeper gaze. Overall, he looks more radiant on stage and is more photogenic.
