Opening the series of impressive moments for Vietnamese football in 2025 is the ASEAN Cup 2024 championship title, alongside the impressive debut of Xuan Son in Southeast Asian football.

Following this championship title, Vietnamese football has continuously achieved success in 2025, with the U23 team winning the Southeast Asian U23 Championship and qualifying for the 2026 Asian U23 Championship; the women's national team qualifying for the 2026 Women's Asian Cup; and the men's futsal team qualifying for the 2026 Asian Futsal Championship.

The Vietnamese women's futsal team won the SEA Games championship for the first time.

At the 33rd SEA Games, the Vietnam U22 team won the gold medal, while the women's futsal team won the top medal for the first time in history.

Also in 2025, Vietnamese football will have three more youth teams – the U17 women's team, the U20 women's team, and the U17 men's team – that have qualified for Asian tournaments and will all compete in the finals of continental competitions this year.

What Vietnamese football achieves in 2025 will be a solid foundation for bigger goals in 2026. That will be a year of new challenges, from continental competitions to important regional tournaments.
