On May 15th in Hanoi,FPT Digital, in collaboration with the Green Development Subcommittee, EuroCham Vietnam, and SP Group Vietnam, organized the DxHub event themed “Sustainable Energy Transition Orientation and Implementation Practices for Manufacturing Businesses”. The event provided practical insights and experiences on sustainable energy transition worldwide, as well as suitable approaches for Vietnamese businesses. At COP26, Vietnam committed to achieving net-zero emissions by 2050, aiming for a 43.5% reduction in greenhouse gas emissions and designating renewable energy as a 70% component of its energy development plan by 2050. Vietnamese industrial parks and manufacturing plants play a crucial role in this transition. According to Le Vu Minh, Director of Consulting at FPT Digital, industrial production in Vietnam still heavily relies on fossil fuels. Therefore, as energy demand increases, greenhouse gas emissions will rise significantly. To achieve the commitments under COP26, a comprehensive shift to green energy across all sectors, especially manufacturing businesses in Vietnam, is mandatory. Mr. Minh also pointed out that green energy will help businesses achieve a dual objective: enhancing competitiveness while meeting the standards of stakeholders, particularly major importing markets such as the US, Japan, and Europe. This is further facilitated by the fact that operating and using renewable energy sources like solar and wind power have become increasingly cheaper in recent years. Furthermore, investment in renewable energy systems is also supported by government incentives, including subsidies, tax breaks, and other preferential policies, which help reduce the total initial investment cost. In the long term, businesses adopting green energy will be more highly valued by investors due to their potential for sustainable and environmentally responsible profit generation. In addition, the company's brand will create a better impression with all stakeholders, from employees to customers, suppliers, and partners, as they increasingly meet environmental and social requirements. FPT Digital, in collaboration with the Green Development Subcommittee, EuroCham Vietnam, and SP Group Vietnam, organized the DxHub event themed “Orientation for Sustainable Energy Transition and Practical Implementation for Manufacturing Businesses”.

Producing green energy such as solar, wind, or bioenergy independently can offer many benefits but requires significant initial investment and complex technical knowledge. Mr. Tran Quoc Hai, Director of Sustainable Energy Transition at SP Group, stated that besides investing in their own green energy production systems, Vietnamese businesses can also purchase energy from suppliers like SP Group, depending on their needs, business objectives, and specific conditions. This option offers greater flexibility and speed, saving businesses time and investment resources. However, Mr. Stuart Livesey, Co-Chair of the Green Development Subcommittee at Eurocham Vietnam, pointed out several barriers to energy transition in Vietnam. Firstly, there is the issue of grid infrastructure inconsistency. Uneven development of the grid infrastructure can limit the integration of renewable energy sources into the network, especially in areas far from urban centers. Secondly, the energy market in Vietnam is still in the process of transition, therefore it is necessary to quickly finalize mechanisms and policies to promote and encourage the use of renewable energy from businesses, as well as attract investors in the clean energy sector. A representative from FPT Digital offered several recommendations for manufacturing businesses to integrate energy transition with digital transformation. Accordingly, digital transformation will help control energy demand and promote a smart, efficient, and precise energy transition throughout the entire business value chain. These are all strategic transformation directions for businesses. Combining them in a synchronized and comprehensive way will create a dual transformation strategy, helping businesses create a unique competitive advantage and move towards sustainable development. The DxHub™ on Sustainable Energy Transition and Implementation Practices for Manufacturing Businesses is one of the events organized by FPT Digital to update and share knowledge, experience, expert perspectives, and connect businesses in the field of digital transformation, green transformation, and sustainable development. The event attracted many representatives from ministries and agencies such as the State Bank of Vietnam, the Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment, the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development , experts from domestic research institutes, as well as representatives from many large enterprises such as CBRE Vietnam, TONMAT Group JSC, Bitexco Power Corporation, Siemens Energy, and the Vietnam National Oil and Gas Exploration and Production Corporation. FPT Digital is a leading strategic consulting company in Vietnam. FPT Digital has made a strong mark in the consulting field through consulting projects for many businesses in the VNR500 group, such as Vietnam National Petroleum Group, Vietsovpetro Joint Venture, An Phat Group, Minh Phu Seafood Group, Thien Long Group, Traphaco Joint Stock Company, and Petrochemical Fertilizer and Chemical Corporation - PVFCCo, etc. Besides the corporate sector, FPT Digital also assists provinces and cities in their digital transformation and socio-economic development planning, such as Binh Dinh and Khanh Hoa.
