On July 17th, SemiKong, the world's first open-source large-scale programming language (LLM) specifically designed for the semiconductor industry, launched with the expectation of optimizing semiconductor manufacturing processes and technologies, and quickly exploiting the potential of this $500 billion industry in the next five years.
SemiKong surpasses general-purpose programming languages like GPT and Llama3 in terms of accuracy, interoperability, and understanding of semiconductor processes. Versions of SemiKong have proven highly effective in accelerating innovation and reducing costs across the entire semiconductor value chain. SemiKong can also contribute to lower semiconductor manufacturing costs, directly benefiting consumers through reduced prices for smartphones, laptops, and smart home devices in the coming years.
This is the result of a collaboration between members of the global AI alliance, including AITOMATIC, Tokyo Electron (TEL), andFPT Software (a subsidiary of FPT Group). Possessing strong technological capabilities and expertise, FPT Software participated in building the infrastructure and refining the semiconductor platform model for SemiKong.
With SemiKong, FPT Software can further enhance service value and deliver innovations to customers, such as customizing AI specifically for each specialized field and/or storing platform models for community use. Simultaneously, FPT Software also plans to utilize the solutions of its SemiKong model-based partners to build intelligent chip design assistants for future chip manufacturing customers.
