Vietnam Futsal team wins 7-0 against Timor Leste.

(NLĐO) - In the second match of the 2026 Southeast Asian Futsal Championship, the Vietnamese futsal team secured a resounding 7-1 victory against Timor Leste to temporarily lead Group A.

The Vietnamese futsal team demonstrated overwhelming strength by defeating Timor Leste 7-1 in a one-sided match.

Right after the opening whistle, Timor-Leste surprised everyone with their attacking style of play and created early dangerous opportunities, but goalkeeper Pham Van Tu made timely saves. However, that was one of the few bright spots for the red-shirted team.

In the 3rd minute, Tu Minh Quang opened the scoring for Vietnam, before Thinh Phat doubled the lead in the 5th minute with a sharp corner kick combination.

Completely dominating the game, the Vietnamese futsal team continuously put pressure on their opponents. In the 12th minute, Da Hai seized the opportunity to increase the score to 3-0.

Trailing by three goals, Timor Leste tried to push forward but lacked accuracy in their finishing. Before the first half ended, Quang Nguyen scored another goal to extend the lead to four goals.

In the second half, the game remained unchanged with Vietnam continuing to dominate. In the 25th minute, Cong Vien stole the ball and scored in a one-on-one situation, increasing the score to 5-0.

A few minutes later, a defensive error by Timor Leste allowed Trinh Cong Dai to score the sixth goal.

For the remainder of the match, in an attempt to score a consolation goal, Timor-Leste employed a power-play tactic but it proved ineffective. Conversely, they conceded another goal in the 37th minute when Thac Hieu neatly finished from outside the penalty area, extending the lead to 7-0. Timor Leste managed to score one consolation goal.

The 7-1 victory puts Vietnam temporarily at the top of the group with 6 points, awaiting the result of the other match between Thailand and Myanmar.

In the final group stage match, the Vietnamese futsal team will compete for first place against host nation Thailand tomorrow (April 8th).
