Nearly 3,200 athletes participated in the Ba Ria Newspaper Cross-Country Race.

On August 3rd, the 25th Ba Ria - Vung Tau Newspaper Cross-Country Race, organized by the Ba Ria - Vung Tau Newspaper, took place in Vung Tau City. Having hosted the race 24 times previously, from a grassroots event with only a few hundred participants the first time, the Ba Ria - Vung Tau Newspaper Cross-Country Race has grown steadily with each edition, becoming a regional-scale grassroots sports event.

Mr. Truong Duc Nghia, Head of the Organizing Committee, is preparing to wave the flag to signal the start of the race.

Mr. Truong Duc Nghia, Editor-in-Chief of Ba Ria - Vung Tau Newspaper and Head of the Organizing Committee, said that over the years, the competition has undergone significant changes towards increasing professionalism in its organization and gradually expanding in scale, as evidenced by the higher number of athletes participating each year. The professional quality has also improved, attracting many well-known athletes from the Vietnamese athletics scene to compete.

The race started early in the morning.

"Building on the success of previous seasons, in this year's 25th edition, the organizing committee has decided to raise the quality of the tournament. Along with that, the benefits for athletes have also been increased, with more prizes and a higher total prize value, reaching 350 million VND, an increase of about 30% compared to last year," Mr. Truong Duc Nghia shared.

The 25th Ba Ria - Vung Tau Newspaper Cross-Country Race has nearly 3,200 athletes from 56 provinces and cities nationwide registered to compete (in 2023 there were 36 provinces and cities).

The 25th edition of the race attracted nearly 3,200 participants.

In his opening remarks, Mr. Dang Minh Thong, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, affirmed that the Ba Ria - Vung Tau Newspaper Cross-Country Race has become a traditional event, held annually for many years, contributing to the strong and comprehensive development of the sports movement in the locality and the entire Southeast region.

Leaders of the People's Committee of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province and the Provincial Propaganda Department also participated in the run.

The Ba Ria - Vung Tau Newspaper Cross-Country Race, held along the Thuy Van - Ha Long - Quang Trung - Tran Phu coastal route in Vung Tau City, showcased the image of a beautiful, potential-rich, friendly, and hospitable Ba Ria - Vung Tau to friends both domestically and internationally.
