Currently, Ha Tinh province has 7 operational ports; of which 5 are in the Vung Ang - Son Duong area and 2 are in the Nghi Xuan area.
Notably, in 2025, the Lao-Viet International Port Joint Stock Company officially put into operation Berth No. 3 of Vung Ang Port. The addition of a new berth not only contributes to the completion of port infrastructure but also enhances cargo handling and transportation capacity, creating room for growth in import-export activities and logistics services.

According to the Ha Tinh Maritime Port Authority, operations at the seaports have been stable, smooth, and efficient in recent times.
Mr. Tran Van Thang – Head of Infrastructure Management Department (Ha Tinh Maritime Port Authority) said: “As a specialized state management agency, the unit has promoted administrative procedure reform and strengthened the application of online public services to support businesses. The coordinated and rapid resolution of procedures for ships entering and leaving the port has contributed to reducing cargo congestion, costs, and time for businesses. In the long term, the Port Authority will continue to review and advise on adjustments to maritime regulations to suit practical realities, creating momentum for the development of local production, business, and logistics.”

According to technical data, in 2025, the total number of ship arrivals and departures at Ha Tinh port will reach 6,237, an increase of 2,522 compared to 2024; the volume of goods handled through Ha Tinh seaports will reach nearly 37 million tons, an increase of nearly 2.8 million tons compared to the same period last year. Of which, exports will reach over 6.73 million tons; imports over 16.85 million tons; and domestic goods approximately 13.3 million tons. The main commodities include: wood chips, construction stone, potassium, coal, iron ore, steel, petroleum products, etc.

According to the detailed development plan for the land and water areas of Ha Tinh seaport for the period 2021–2030, with a vision to 2050, the target by 2030 is for the entire province to have 13 ports with a cargo throughput of 46.3–83.5 million tons.
To realize this goal, Ha Tinh is continuing to improve mechanisms and policies, mobilize diverse domestic and foreign resources, promote investment socialization, and create a favorable environment for businesses to participate in investing in and exploiting seaports, thereby promoting sustainable growth for the local economy .
