Representatives of overseas Vietnamese expressed their happiness at being able to visit their homeland, celebrate the traditional Lunar New Year, and witness many achievements in development.
On the occasion of welcoming the Lunar New Year of the Snake 2025, on the evening of February 24th, in Nam Dinh City, the Provincial Party Committee, the Provincial People's Council, the Provincial People's Committee, and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Nam Dinh province organized a meeting with 125 overseas Vietnamese from Nam Dinh currently living in Europe and many other regions of the world who returned to visit their homeland and celebrate Tet.
At the meeting, representatives of the Nam Dinh provincial leadership informed overseas Vietnamese about the development achievements of their hometown; the province's future development goals and plans; and affirmed that the overall achievements of the province have included many important contributions from people of Nam Dinh abroad, acting as a bridge and facilitating cooperation in science , technology, investment, business, finance, etc.
At the same time, provincial leaders emphasized that the province always cherishes and welcomes its returning sons and daughters, bringing with them feelings, ambitions, aspirations, and resources to contribute to the building and development of their homeland; and committed to creating the most favorable conditions to support the business activities of overseas Vietnamese in their homeland, working together to build Nam Dinh into a province that is both modern and developed while preserving traditional values.

The Nam Dinh community abroad, including those in European countries, always remain united, supporting and helping each other in life; establishing and participating in many organizations; and always looking towards their homeland with practical actions and sentiments.
"In 2024, Typhoon Yagi caused significant damage nationwide, with Nam Dinh province being one of the hardest hit. Nam Dinh residents in Europe donated and sent aid back to their homeland to help overcome the consequences," a representative of the overseas Vietnamese community stated.
During their visit to their homeland, the overseas Vietnamese community of Nam Dinh donated money to support the province in carrying out activities to ensure social welfare.
