At noon on June 1st, Mr. Nguyen Van Phong, Deputy Director of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, stated that the first exam session for the Literature subject proceeded safely, seriously, and in accordance with regulations. Security forces were fully present, on duty overnight and at the gates as required, and the exam conditions at the testing sites were normal.
According to the leaders of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Education and Training, 603 candidates were absent from the first exam session. According to the exam's admission regulations, the admission score for 10th-grade students is usually the total score: Literature score + Foreign language score + Mathematics score + priority/incentive points (if any). All subjects are weighted with a coefficient of 1.

Public high schools only consider applicants who have participated in all required exams, have not violated the regulations during the entrance exam, and have scored more than 0 on all exams. Therefore, students who missed the Literature exam will not be eligible for admission.
On the afternoon of June 1st, candidates in Ho Chi Minh City continued to take the foreign language exam, with a time limit of 90 minutes.
