Urgently develop a project to reclaim the sea and the urban railway line from Da Nang to Quang Nam

The People's Committee of Da Nang City has just issued Decisions No. 1462/QD-UBND and 1463/QD-UBND on establishing a Working Group to study the idea of ​​reclaiming land in Da Nang Bay and the urban railway connecting Da Nang City with Quang Nam Province.

Accordingly, the Working Group to study the idea of ​​reclaiming the sea in Da Nang Bay is headed by Mr. Le Trung Chinh, Chairman of Da Nang City People's Committee; the Working Group to study the idea of ​​an urban railway connecting Da Nang City with Quang Nam Province is headed by Mr. Le Quang Nam, Vice Chairman of Da Nang City People's Committee.

Da Nang has proposed a project to encroach on Da Nang Bay to build 5 floating islands.

The working group members include leaders of departments and units such as the Department of Construction, Agriculture and Environment, Finance, Science and Technology, Office of the City People's Committee; Management Board of Priority Infrastructure Investment Projects, Management Board of Investment and Construction of Civil, Industrial and Technical Infrastructure Works in Da Nang.

The Working Groups are responsible for determining the objectives, scope, and content of the research; reviewing and selecting preliminary options and ideas; directing the collection of information, data, and necessary field surveys when researching ideas.

Coordinate and unify the activities of relevant departments, branches, localities and units in the process of organizing research and proposing plans.

Evaluate options and ideas in terms of socio-economic efficiency, feasibility in terms of economic and technical efficiency, environmental impacts, sustainability, conformity with socio-economic development orientation, urban planning and related planning of the city and inter-regional planning.

Previously, CAND Newspaper reported that at the meeting with voters on the morning of April 25, Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee Nguyen Van Quang shared with voters about the urban project on Da Nang Bay with the plan to build 5 artificial floating islands, forming 48 km of new coastline, aiming to develop an international financial, trade and service complex.

According to Mr. Quang, this is a large and unique project. When completed, the project will be similar to the model of Dubai that is currently developing. If it is successful, it will have great value, not only promoting the socio-economic development of Da Nang in the following decades, but also building an image and brand of a new Da Nang in the international arena.
