Positive market developments have given domestic coffee growers more confidence in the new crop year, although harsh weather and lack of irrigation water are reducing yields in some of Vietnam's major coffee growing regions.
Today's coffee price in Dak Lak is 111,500 VND/kg, an increase of 300 VND/kg compared to yesterday's trading session.
Coffee price in Lam Dong is at 111,100 VND/kg, an increase of 300 VND/kg compared to early this morning.
Coffee price in Gia Lai is 111,600 VND, up 300 VND/kg compared to early this morning.
Coffee price in Dak Nong is 111,700 VND/kg, up 300 VND/kg compared to yesterday morning.
Although coffee prices have reached their highest level in many years, according to the Vietnam Coffee Association, coffee trading activities have not improved much as traders are waiting for supplies from the next crop.
The Vietnam Coffee Association also commented that although prices are quite high, our harvest has only just begun, and the output is still very small, not enough to serve the international market.
Vietnam’s coffee output in the 2024/2025 crop year is forecast to decrease by 5-10% due to the impact of climate change. However, coffee prices are expected to remain high thanks to increased demand from major export markets.
