Pig price today July 24: All three regions continue to decline, Gia Lai falls to 59,000 VND/kg

The price of live pigs today (July 24) continued to decrease by 1,000 VND/kg in many localities across the country. In particular, the highest market price is currently recorded in Ca Mau and Tay Ninh at 65,000 VND/kg, while the price of pigs in Gia Lai dropped to the lowest level of 59,000 VND/kg.

Pig price today in the North continues to slide

In the Northern region, pork prices continued to decrease in many localities with a decrease of 1,000 VND/kg.

Specifically, live pigs in Tuyen Quang, Bac Ninh, Hanoi , Hai Phong and Hung Yen provinces all decreased by 1,000 VND/kg, currently at 62,000 VND/kg.

Pig prices in Lang Son, Quang Ninh and Lao Cai also decreased by VND1,000/kg, down to VND61,000/kg. With the same decrease, Lai Chau and Dien Bien are currently purchasing at the lowest price in the region at VND60,000/kg.

Meanwhile, pork prices in Cao Bang , Thai Nguyen, Ninh Binh, Phu Tho and Son La remained at 62,000 VND/kg.

Currently, the price of live pigs in the North fluctuates from 60,000 VND/kg to 62,000 VND/kg.

Pig price today in the Central Highlands decreased by 1,000 VND/kg in many places

In the Central Highlands, many localities continued to record a decrease of 1,000 VND/kg.

Specifically, localities such as Nghe An, Khanh Hoa and Lam Dong are currently purchasing at 61,000 VND/kg after a decrease of 1,000 VND/kg. Ha Tinh and Quang Tri both reduced to 60,000 VND/kg. Gia Lai alone recorded a similar decrease, currently trading at 59,000 VND/kg.

Meanwhile, localities such as Thanh Hoa, Hue, Da Nang, Quang Ngai and Dak Lak did not record any changes, continuing to purchase live pigs at 61,000 VND/kg.

Currently, the price of live pigs in the Central Highlands ranges from 59,000 VND/kg to 63,000 VND/kg.

Pig price today in the South continues to decrease in some places

In the South, the price of live pigs today also continued to decrease in some localities.

Specifically, pig prices in Dong Nai, Dong Thap and An Giang all decreased by VND1,000/kg, currently trading at VND63,000/kg. Tay Ninh also recorded a similar decrease, currently purchasing live pigs at VND65,000/kg.

Meanwhile, pork prices in Ca Mau remained at the highest level in the region at VND65,000/kg; Ho Chi Minh City and Can Tho were stable at VND64,000/kg; Vinh Long remained at VND63,000/kg.

Currently, the price of live pigs in the South fluctuates from 63,000 VND/kg to 65,000 VND/kg.

Overall, the price of live pigs today (July 24) continued to decrease in all three regions. Many localities decreased by 1,000 VND/kg compared to the previous day. The lowest price is currently recorded in Gia Lai at 59,000 VND/kg; the highest is 65,000 VND/kg in Ca Mau and Tay Ninh.

African swine fever re-emerges, more than 5 tons of pigs destroyed

According to the Agriculture and Environment newspaper , more than 50 pigs were urgently destroyed due to African swine fever infection, Mr. Ca Van Tong, the owner of a household in Chieng Sinh ward, lost 200 million VND.

On July 20, an interdisciplinary delegation of Chieng Sinh ward, including officials from the Department of Economic - Urban Infrastructure, police, militia and self-defense forces, coordinated with the XII Agricultural Technical Center to destroy more than 5 tons of pigs infected with African swine fever in Muong village (Chieng Sinh ward, Son La province), owned by Mr. Ca Van Tong.

Having received the news 3 days ago, Mr. Tong reported to the village chief when 3 sows suddenly stopped eating for nearly 2 days. On the 3rd day, one died, he was very worried because these were the initial signs of African swine fever.

The next morning, Chieng Sinh Ward established a team to inspect, collect samples and destroy the dead pigs to isolate the family's area, in case this was the third outbreak of African swine fever in the ward.

By the evening of July 18, information from the XII Agricultural Technical Center said that the test sample was positive for African swine fever. The center sent information to the family and leaders of Chieng Sinh ward to develop a plan to contain the epidemic and proceed with the destruction.
