Specifically, live pigs in Tuyen Quang, Bac Ninh, Hanoi , Hai Phong and Hung Yen provinces all decreased by 1,000 VND/kg, currently at 62,000 VND/kg.
Pig prices in Lang Son, Quang Ninh and Lao Cai also decreased by VND1,000/kg, down to VND61,000/kg. With the same decrease, Lai Chau and Dien Bien are currently purchasing at the lowest price in the region at VND60,000/kg.
Meanwhile, pork prices in Cao Bang , Thai Nguyen, Ninh Binh, Phu Tho and Son La remained at 62,000 VND/kg.

African swine fever re-emerges, more than 5 tons of pigs destroyed
According to the Agriculture and Environment newspaper , more than 50 pigs were urgently destroyed due to African swine fever infection, Mr. Ca Van Tong, the owner of a household in Chieng Sinh ward, lost 200 million VND.
On July 20, an interdisciplinary delegation of Chieng Sinh ward, including officials from the Department of Economic - Urban Infrastructure, police, militia and self-defense forces, coordinated with the XII Agricultural Technical Center to destroy more than 5 tons of pigs infected with African swine fever in Muong village (Chieng Sinh ward, Son La province), owned by Mr. Ca Van Tong.
Having received the news 3 days ago, Mr. Tong reported to the village chief when 3 sows suddenly stopped eating for nearly 2 days. On the 3rd day, one died, he was very worried because these were the initial signs of African swine fever.
The next morning, Chieng Sinh Ward established a team to inspect, collect samples and destroy the dead pigs to isolate the family's area, in case this was the third outbreak of African swine fever in the ward.
By the evening of July 18, information from the XII Agricultural Technical Center said that the test sample was positive for African swine fever. The center sent information to the family and leaders of Chieng Sinh ward to develop a plan to contain the epidemic and proceed with the destruction.
