Today, July 17th, rice prices in the Mekong Delta region remained stable for paddy rice. Prices increased by 50-100 VND for raw rice and decreased by 100-150 VND for finished rice. On the export market, rice prices were offered at low levels.

The rice market in localities across the Mekong Delta region today is generally stable, with a large supply of raw rice.

Specifically in Sa Dec (Dong Thap), the supply is stable and rice prices are relatively stable. In An Cu (Cai Be, Tien Giang ), prices are stable, but there is little high-quality rice. In Lap Vo (Dong Thap), transactions are stable, but the rice quality is poor, and there is a large supply of low-quality, unprocessed rice.

According to an update from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of An Giang province, rice prices have been adjusted compared to yesterday. Specifically, raw IR 504 summer-autumn rice is priced at 10,700-10,750 VND/kg (an increase of 50-100 VND/kg); finished IR 504 rice is priced at 12,500-12,550 VND/kg (a decrease of 100-150 VND/kg).

By-product prices today have seen adjustments compared to yesterday. Currently, the price of IR 504 rice bran is at 8,700 – 8,900 VND/kg. Meanwhile, the price of dry rice bran has adjusted to 7,000 – 7,200 VND/kg, an increase of 50 VND/kg compared to yesterday.

At retail markets, rice prices remain unchanged. Currently, Nang Nhen rice is listed at the highest price of 30,000 VND/kg; Jasmine rice at 18,000 – 20,000 VND/kg; Nang Hoa rice at 20,000 VND/kg; regular white rice fluctuates around 15,000 – 16,000 VND/kg; long-grain Thai fragrant rice at 20,000 – 21,000 VND/kg; Huong Lai rice at 20,000 VND/kg; Taiwanese fragrant rice at 21,000 VND/kg; common white rice at 17,000 VND/kg; regular Soc rice at 18,500 VND/kg; Soc Thai rice at 20,000 VND/kg; and Japanese rice at 22,000 VND/kg.

Regarding rice, observations in various localities show that new rice transactions are slow due to buying activity, with some places even halting purchases. Farmers are offering stable prices, resulting in little fluctuation in rice prices.

Specifically, according to updates from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of An Giang province, rice prices have been adjusted compared to yesterday. IR 50404 rice is fluctuating around 6,900 – 7,000 VND/kg; Dai Thom 8 rice is priced at 7,100 – 7,300 VND/kg; OM 5451 rice is stable at 6,900 – 7,200 VND/kg; OM 18 rice is priced at 7,000 – 7,200 VND/kg; OM 380 rice fluctuates from 7,000 – 7,200 VND/kg; Nhat rice is at 7,800 – 8,000 VND/kg; Nang Hoa 9 rice is priced at 7,600 – 7,700 VND/kg and Nang Nhen (dried) rice is at 20,000 VND/kg.

Accordingly, the glutinous rice market saw adjustments compared to yesterday. The price of 3-month-old glutinous rice (dry) remained unchanged at 8,800 VND/kg to 9,000 VND/kg. Additionally, the price for Long An glutinous rice (dry) was 9,000 – 9,200 VND/kg. On the other hand, the price of 3-month-old glutinous rice (fresh) remained stable compared to yesterday at 7,300 – 7,500 VND/kg, while Long An glutinous rice (fresh) increased by 50 VND compared to today.

On the export market, Vietnam's rice export prices adjusted downwards compared to yesterday. According to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), 100% broken rice remained stable at US$460/ton, down US$5; standard 5% broken rice is currently at US$562/ton, down US$2; and 25% broken rice is at US$538/ton, down US$5.
