Similar to rice, during the slow trading week, domestic rice prices were relatively stable, some exported rice prices were flat at the beginning of the week, fluctuated in the middle of the week, then flat at the end of the week.
According to the update from the Department of Agriculture and Environment of An Giang province, currently OM 380 raw rice fluctuates at 7,950 - 8,050 VND/kg; 5451 raw rice fluctuates at 9,450 - 9,550 VND/kg; IR 504 raw rice fluctuates at 8,250 - 8,350 VND/kg; CL 555 raw rice fluctuates at 8,600 - 8,800 VND/kg; OM 18 raw rice fluctuates at 10,200 - 10,400 VND/kg; OM 380 finished rice fluctuates at 8,800 - 9,000 VND/kg; IR 504 finished rice fluctuates at 9,500 - 9,700 VND/kg.

In the export market, Vietnam's rice export prices remained unchanged from yesterday. According to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), currently 5% standard rice is at 397 USD/ton; 25% broken rice is at 368 USD/ton; 100% broken rice is at 325 USD/ton.
According to information from the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), in the first 5 months of 2025, Vietnam exported more than 4 million tons of rice. With this result, the rice industry still has 7 more months to complete the export target of 7.5 million tons in 2025. This is a positive signal, showing that the target is completely feasible and can even exceed the set target.
In the first quarter of 2025, the Philippines remained Vietnam's largest rice consumer market with a market share of 42.1%. Ivory Coast and Ghana were the next two largest markets with market shares of 16.3% and 10.2%, respectively. The Vietnam Trade Office in the Philippines forecast that the Philippines' rice import demand in 2025 would remain high. In particular, Vietnam continued to be the Philippines' leading rice exporter. It is forecast that the country will import about 4.35 million tons of rice from Vietnam in 2025.
In April-May 2025, Vietnam's rice exports recorded a price recovery after a sharp decline at the beginning of the year, especially in the 5% broken rice segment. According to the Vietnam Food Association (VFA), the current price of Vietnam's 5% broken rice has increased compared to the beginning of 2025 but is still at 397 USD/ton - 5 USD/ton lower than the same type of rice from Thailand, but 15 USD/ton and 5 USD/ton higher than India and Pakistan, respectively. However, the increase in Vietnam's rice export price in the coming time is still not really positive due to being influenced by market demand and supply.
Agricultural experts believe that in order to improve capacity and export value, domestic enterprises need to continue to proactively diversify markets, increase rice exports to new markets such as Europe, the US, Japan, the Middle East, West Asia, Africa, etc. At the same time, take advantage of free trade agreements to enjoy tariff incentives and conquer and increase rice exports to new markets.
