Bitget Wallet has just confirmed that after Pi Network completed its mainnet migration, there was a strong sell-off by token holders.

COO Alvin Kan said that the rapid unlocking of tokens is creating concerns about inflation, leaving the market worried about whether demand can keep up with the rate of issuance.

He predicted that the downward price trend could continue if the fundamental factors do not improve.

Pi's market capitalization has also plummeted, from nearly $20 billion to around $4.56 billion. According to expert Alex Obchakevich, the main reason is the excessive unlocking of tokens, far exceeding market demand.

To date, 4.9 billion tokens have been put into circulation, and an additional 1.54 billion are expected to be issued in the next year. He believes that a continued price drop is inevitable if the rate of issuance is not controlled.

Besides the price drop, Pi Network is also facing major problems with its KYC system. The requirement to verify identity to transfer tokens to the mainnet has become a barrier for most users.

Of the 60 million people who mined Pi, only 14 million were able to complete the conversion. Many reported failed transactions and missing tokens, while the development team remained silent, causing trust in the project to further decline.

With Pi Coin continuing to depreciate in value, the next few months are seen as a crucial period. Without significant improvements in user experience and information transparency, Pi's future could look bleak.
