Pepper price today June 21, 2024: Slight increase in the Southeast region
In the Southeast region, it increased slightly by 1,000 VND/kg in some localities, trading around 157,600 VND/kg, the highest purchase price in Dak Nong and Dak Lak provinces was 160,000 VND/kg.
Accordingly, Dak Lak pepper price is purchased at 160,000 VND/kg. Chu Se pepper price (Gia Lai) is currently at 156,000 VND/kg. Dak Nong pepper price today is recorded at 160,000 VND/kg, unchanged from yesterday.
In the Southeast region, pepper prices today increased by 1,000 VND/kg. Specifically, in Ba Ria - Vung Tau, it increased by 1,000 VND/kg to 157,000 VND/kg; in Binh Phuoc , pepper prices reached 155,000 VND/kg.
At the end of the most recent trading session, the International Pepper Community (IPC) listed the price of Lampung black pepper (Indonesia) at 6,418 USD/ton; the price of Brazilian black pepper ASTA 570 at 7,600 USD/ton (down 3.95%); the price of Kuching black pepper (Malaysia) ASTA remained at 7,500 USD/ton (up sharply by 34.67%).
Muntok white pepper price is 8,377 USD/ton; Malaysian ASTA white pepper price increased to 8,800 USD/ton (a sharp increase of 17.05%).
Vietnam's black pepper price is trading at 7,800 USD/ton; 550 g/l type is at 8,000 USD/ton; white pepper price is at 12,000 USD/ton.
Durian prices remain stable
Today's durian price survey remains stable in the Southwest, Southeast and Central Highlands regions.
The two regions of the Southwest and Southeast continue to buy and sell durian at the same price. The price of beautiful Thai durian here is currently listed at around 94,000 - 95,000 VND/kg. The price applied to beautiful Ri6 durian selected in these two markets is 63,000 - 65,000 VND/kg.
The price of beautiful Ri6 durian in the Central Highlands is slightly lower at around 61,000 - 63,000 VND/kg. Meanwhile, the price of beautiful Thai durian in this area is being sold at 90,000 VND/kg to 92,000 VND/kg.
The lowest price, 48,000 - 50,000 VND/kg, is the general price applied to Ri6 durian bought in bulk in all three markets of the Southwest, Southeast and Central Highlands.

These days, the weather in the Central region is extremely hot, with many places exceeding 40 degrees Celsius. This is also the time when dozens of households growing young melons, cantaloupes, etc. in Cam Son commune, Cam Xuyen district, Ha Tinh are busy entering the main crop. High price of dried coconut makes growers excited
The price of dried coconuts in Tien Giang province in the first months of the year has increased again, helping coconut growers earn high profits and be excited to invest in and take care of their coconut gardens.
In the largest coconut growing area of Tien Giang province, Cho Gao district, traders come to buy dry coconuts at prices ranging from 60,000 - 85,000 VND/dozen (12 fruits), an increase of 40,000 VND/dozen compared to a few months ago.

A farmer in Binh Ninh commune, Cho Gao district, Tien Giang province has just harvested 0.8 hectares of coconuts with 1,400 fruits, sold for 85,000 VND/dozen, earning a profit of more than 8 million VND.
Cho Gao District, Tien Giang Province currently has over 8,124 hectares of coconut, an increase of 5.57% over the same period in 2023; of which, the area of coconut trees bearing fruit is 7,035 hectares, with an estimated harvest output in the first 6 months of 2024 of 45,025 tons.
According to coconut growers in Tien Giang province, coconut trees do not require care or investment costs (fertilizers, pesticides) like other crops, so with an average selling price of 50,000 VND/dozen or more, growers have a relatively stable profit.
Chili prices continue to rise sharply
Over the past month, the price of chili peppers and chili peppers at the market has continued to increase by about 10,000 VND/kg. Currently, the price of chili peppers type 1 (large fruit, shiny skin) at the garden has increased from 25,000-30,000 VND/kg to 35,000-40,000 VND/kg compared to last month, while the retail price at the market fluctuates from 50,000-60,000 VND/kg, small chili peppers are 40,000-50,000 VND/kg.
The price of yellow chili peppers sold by gardeners to traders is 40,000-50,000 VND/kg depending on size.
According to vegetable vendors at Vinh Long market: Chili prices increased because gardeners reduced their planting area, plus unusual weather conditions reduced supply.
Also increasing in price are some seasoning vegetables such as green onions, herbs, and cilantro. Specifically, cilantro is 100,000 VND/kg; the price of herbs has doubled compared to a few months ago, at 50,000-55,000 VND/kg; green onions are 30,000 VND/kg.

They have been selling fruit for over ten years now. According to them, in the summer, oranges, tangerines, melons, coconuts, etc. all increase in price because they are cooling fruits. However, these days, Australian tangerines are flooding the market at super cheap prices.
This imported tangerine has a shiny yellow skin, plump segments, and is very sweet, but costs only 40,000 VND/kg if purchased in a 5kg combo. This price is even cheaper than Vietnamese pomelos.
At the end of May and the beginning of June, the price of Australian tangerines was only 30,000-35,000 VND/kg. Some days, they imported bad-looking goods for sale for only 25,000 VND/kg. Never before had this fruit been so cheap. In fact, if compared, it was even cheaper than Wenzhou oranges imported from China - an orange that has a similar appearance and flavor to Australian tangerines.
Australian tangerines are being sold everywhere on the market. In addition to the large-sized tangerines sold for around 100,000 VND/kg, the small-sized tangerines packed in boxes or bags weighing 800 grams/bag are quite cheap, only ranging from 35,000-60,000 VND/kg.
