Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh inspects two expressway projects in the Mekong Delta.

On the morning of July 21, during his working program in An Giang province, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh inspected and checked the progress of Component 1 of the Chau Doc-Can Tho-Soc Trang Expressway Project at the starting point of the route (in Chau Doc, An Giang).

The joint venture of Truong Son Construction Corporation - Construction Equipment and Materials Joint Stock Company 624 said that the project implementation status up to July 20, 2025 and the plan of solutions to ensure the construction progress of Package No. 42 are as follows: Route section: From Km0+314–Km17+240, 16.926km long; bridge section: Including 7 bridges on the route. Contract value after savings: 2,451,585 billion VND. Implementation progress: start: June 17, 2023; completion: June 30, 2026. Implementation value to date: 1,112.47 billion/2,300.95 billion, reaching 48.35% of the contract value, exceeding 0.74% of the plan. Speaking at the construction site, the Prime Minister requested the investor and contractor to review and speed up the progress, "eat quickly, sleep quickly", "only work, no backtracking", work through holidays and weekends; shorten the construction time, and strive to open this expressway to traffic by December 19, 2025.

The Prime Minister requested that forces such as local youth, women, and veterans pay attention to and encourage construction workers; required investors and contractors to use more local contractors; and the military must also get involved to support investors and contractors.

According to the Prime Minister, if the project is put into operation soon, people and localities will soon benefit, creating new development space.

The Prime Minister also requested units to ensure construction quality, labor safety, environmental sanitation, and technical and aesthetic requirements.

* On the same afternoon, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh inspected and checked the progress of Component Project 1 of the Cao Lanh-An Huu Expressway Project at the intersection between Component Project 1 and Component Project 2 of this expressway in Dong Thap province.

Inspecting the construction site and giving gifts to encourage the construction units, the Prime Minister approved the investor's proposal to increase capital for the project to speed up progress, and assigned relevant ministries and branches to coordinate with the investor to carry out procedures to ensure compliance with regulations.

The Prime Minister also approved the plan to expand the scale of stone mining in An Giang to supply raw materials for this highway; noting that the highway must be invested in on a full scale.

After the investor and contractor reported on the actual progress of the project, the Prime Minister directed that by December 19, 2025, the section through Dong Thap province (old) must be opened to traffic. The expressway section through Tien Giang province (old) must be opened to traffic on April 30, 2026 due to the time it takes to compensate for subsidence.
