New development in Vietnam-Croatia friendship and cooperation

The establishment of the Honorary Consulate in Zagreb, the Republic of Croatia, clearly demonstrates the commitment and determination of the leaders of Vietnam and Croatia to expand and deepen bilateral cooperation in all fields.

On December 4, in the capital city of Zagreb, the Republic of Croatia, the opening ceremony of the Honorary Consulate of Vietnam took place. Vietnamese Ambassador to Hungary and the Republic of Croatia Bui Le Thai, along with representatives of the Diplomatic Corps; staff of the Vietnamese Embassy and representatives of the Vietnamese community in Croatia. The event marked a new step in the development of friendship and cooperation between Vietnam and Croatia.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ambassador Bui Le Thai emphasized that the establishment of the Honorary Consulate in Zagreb clearly demonstrates the commitment and determination of the two countries' leaders in expanding and deepening bilateral cooperation in all fields.

“This is not only an important milestone in the development of Vietnam-Croatia relations but also a concrete step in implementing the policy of the Party and State of Vietnam on working with overseas Vietnamese. The office will be a new connection channel, contributing to enhancing people-to-people exchanges, promoting economy , trade, culture, education and tourism between the two countries,” Ambassador Bui Le Thai emphasized.

Sending congratulations to Mr. Marko Moric, Honorary Consul of Vietnam in Croatia, Ambassador Bui Le Thai believes that with his prestige, experience and attachment to the country and people of Vietnam, Mr. Marko Moric will successfully fulfill his assigned responsibilities, making practical contributions to consular work and promoting bilateral cooperation.

Vietnam and Croatia have maintained a stable and effective cooperative relationship for over 30 years, spanning many fields such as politics , economics, culture, tourism and multilateral cooperation. The two countries regularly exchange delegations at all levels, maintain political consultations, and organize many people-to-people exchange activities. Bilateral trade has continued to grow in recent years, showing that there is still a lot of room for cooperation.

The opening of the Vietnam Honorary Consulate in Zagreb is expected to create new momentum for the two countries to fully exploit the potential for cooperation. The office will be a trusted address in supporting Vietnamese citizens in Croatia, while promoting business connections, investment cooperation, science and technology, culture and people-to-people exchange.

Honorary Consul Marko Moric affirmed that he will do his best to make the Office a "bridge of friendship, trust and sustainability" between the people of the two countries.

Ambassador Bui Le Thai affirmed that the Embassy and relevant agencies of Vietnam will closely coordinate and create all favorable conditions for the Honorary Consul to successfully complete his duties, thereby continuing to strengthen the friendship and multifaceted cooperation between Vietnam and Croatia.

At the ceremony, guests enjoyed an art program imbued with Vietnamese cultural identity, watched video clips and visited the exhibition space introducing the country, people, heritage and culture of Vietnam as well as Vietnam's achievements after nearly 40 years of renovation; enjoyed tea, coffee and some Vietnamese specialties.

The above activities have created a complete cultural experience, contributing to spreading the image of a friendly, rich in identity, integrated and developed Vietnam to international friends.
