"Blood, Fire, and Flowers" is the name of the art program held on the evening of July 19th, organized by a group of students majoring in Communication and Event Management fromFPT Polytechnic Da Nang College in collaboration with the Ho Chi Minh Museum - Military Region 5 Branch and the Military Region 5 Museum.
The program aims to commemorate the 78th anniversary of the Day of War Invalids and Martyrs (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2025), remembering and expressing profound gratitude to the heroes who sacrificed their lives for the independence, freedom, and peace of the nation.
The guest of "Blood, Fire, and Flowers" is journalist and veteran Phung Huy Thinh - a direct witness to the battle at Quang Tri Citadel in 1972. Following the moving account of a former artillery reconnaissance soldier of the 325th Division, "Blood, Fire, and Flowers" is a profound emotional journey - where heroic memories are recreated through storytelling, music , short plays, and documentary images.
Each performance serves as a reminder of the courage and silent sacrifices of previous generations, while simultaneously spreading love for the country, the aspiration for peace, and national spirit to the younger generation.

Another program organized by FPT Polytechnic College students on this occasion was "Legend of Mother". With the main message "Mother - A Journey of Love and Conditions", the program depicted the image of Vietnamese mothers throughout the country's journey, from the years of fierce war to the days of peace, through plays, skits, dances, and songs.
Here, the audience was particularly moved by the reenactment of the image of Mother Suốt rowing a boat to ferry soldiers across the Nhật Lệ River, Mother Nhu and 7 commando soldiers from District 2, and Mother Thứ, who had 12 children and grandchildren who were martyrs…
Notably, the production teams for both programs were all students. Through their efforts, they brought emotionally resonant performances to the audience.

Le Hoang Nguyet Anh, representing the organizing committee of "Legend of the Mother," said: "During the planning process for the event, our team faced many difficulties. However, each individual strived to perfect every step with the desire to express our gratitude to Vietnamese mothers in the most complete way possible."
Meanwhile, student Nguyen Tuong Vi, representing the organizing committee of "Blood, Fire, and Flowers," shared that the team spent over four months brainstorming the script, gathering information from various reputable sources, developing the content, and deciding on a historical theme for their project.
“Blood, Fire, and Flowers” and “Legend of Mother” are two of the many projects undertaken by communication students at FPT Polytechnic Da Nang during this July commemorative period. According to Mr. Nguyen Khanh, Deputy Director of FPT Polytechnic Da Nang, these are major projects that students will complete to fulfill their training program before graduation.
According to Mr. Khanh, the school pursues the motto "learning by doing," with each subject linked to a real-world project. Students do everything themselves, from scriptwriting, finding sponsors and partners, contacting guests, to sound, lighting, stage design, and media relations.
Practical projects serve as a special learning experience. Besides developing organizational skills, creativity, and a proactive attitude, they provide students with an opportunity to better understand the country's history and culture through real-life experiences, learning to appreciate the past and look towards the future.
“We realize that history is the most glorious book of our nation, and battles are a sacred chapter in history,” said Nguyen Tuong Vi. Meanwhile, journalist and veteran Phung Huy Thinh believes that the younger generation, with their patriotism, can go far, continuing the spirit of national unity through programs like today’s.
