Special course to honor those with merit

ĐNO - There are courses that do not have textbooks; instead, students learn from programs that they organize. The lessons outside of the subject also have the meaning of showing gratitude to those who have contributed.

“Blood, Fire and Flowers” is the name of the art program taking place on the night of July 19 by a group of students majoring in Communication and Event Organization at FPT Polytechnic College in Da Nang in collaboration with the Ho Chi Minh Museum - Military Region 5 Branch and the Military Region 5 Museum.

The program aims to commemorate the 78th anniversary of War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27, 1947 - July 27, 2025), to remember and pay deep gratitude to the heroes who sacrificed for the independence, freedom and peace of the nation.

The guest of “Blood, Fire and Flowers” is journalist and veteran Phung Huy Thinh - a historical witness who directly participated in the battle at Quang Tri Citadel in 1972. Following the emotional story of the artillery scout of the former 325th Division, “Blood, Fire and Flowers” is a profound emotional journey - where heroic memories are recreated through narration, music , short plays and documentary images.

Each performance is a reminder of the courage and silent sacrifice of previous generations; at the same time, it spreads love for the country, the desire for peace and national spirit to the younger generation.

Another program organized by FPT Polytechnic College students on this occasion is “Mother’s Legend”. With the main message “Mother - the journey of love and conditions”, the program depicts the image of Vietnamese mothers in the journey of the country, from the fierce war years to the day of peace through plays, animations, dances and songs.

Here, the audience was especially moved by the reenactment of the image of Mother Suot rowing a boat to take soldiers across the Nhat Le River, Mother Nhu and 7 special forces soldiers of District 2, Mother Thu with 12 children and grandchildren who are martyrs...

Notably, the production crew of both programs are all students. With their efforts, they bring the audience emotional performances.

Le Hoang Nguyet Anh - representative of the organizing committee of "Mother's Legend" said: "During the process of planning the event, our group encountered many difficulties. However, each individual tried to complete each step with the desire to send gratitude to Vietnamese mothers in the most complete way".

Meanwhile, student Nguyen Tuong Vi - representative of the organizing committee of "Blood, Fire and Flowers" shared that the production team spent more than 4 months coming up with ideas for the script, searching for information from many reputable sources, building content and deciding to choose a historical theme for their project.

“Blood, Fire and Flowers” and “Mother’s Legend” are two of many projects that students majoring in communication at FPT Polytechnic College in Da Nang have carried out during these days of gratitude in July. Mr. Nguyen Khanh, Vice Director of FPT Polytechnic College in Da Nang, said that these are major projects that students will carry out to complete their training program before graduation.

According to Mr. Khanh, the school pursues the motto of “practical learning - practical work” with each subject associated with a real product. Students do everything themselves, from the script, finding sponsors, partners, contacting guests to sound, lighting, stage, media, etc.

Real-life projects are a special learning experience. In addition to developing organizational skills, creativity and initiative, students also gain a better understanding of the country’s history and culture from real people and real events, learn to appreciate the past and look to the future.

“We realize that history is the most heroic book of the nation and battles are a sacred page of history,” said Nguyen Tuong Vi. As for journalist and veteran Phung Huy Thinh, he believes that the young generation with patriotism can go far, continuing the spirit of national solidarity, through programs like today.
